Judicial Branch • There are 9 judges in the Supreme Court. • A judges term is all there life or on till they retire. • Makes sure our laws follow the constitution. • The President also selects the justices of the United States Supreme Court.
Legislative Branch • The legislative Branch of our national government is called the United States Congress. • Congress maces laws for the whole country. • Congress has two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives. • The voters of each states elect two Senators to the United State Senate
Executive Branch • Each state sands 2 Senators. • For Representatives it depends on the population of the state. • As head of the Executive branch of government, the President makes sure that laws passed by Congress are carried out. • The Present also meets with leaders of other countries and is the leader of our military forces.
Checks and Balances The United States government is based no Checks and Balances prevents from one branch being too powerful. The constitution of United States divides the power of the federal government among the president, the Congress, and the federal courts. Each branch has some that offset those of the other two.
