THE LAW OF MOSES On Mt. Sinai God gave three kinds of laws to Moses for the people of Israel. He gave the Civil Law to govern them as a nation. For example, the Civil Law established the punishment for crimes such as injury to another person or damage to another person's property (see Exodus 21: 22).

THE LAW OF MOSES Thirdly, God gave Israel the Moral Law. God had written the Moral Law in man's heart already at creation because it is God's will for all people of all time. God gave the Moral Law to the people in the form of the Ten Commandments. In these Ten Commandments God told the people of Israel how His holy will for all people applied in a special way to them as His chosen people.

Jesus has already done that. We obey to thank and praise God that we are going to heaven!

We should fear and love God so that we do not entice or force away our neighbor’s wife, workers, or animals, or turn them against him, but urge them to stay and do their duty.
