The ninth commandment You shall bear false witness.

Ananias and Sapphira sold some land decided to donate some of the money to the church.

Ananias lied to the disciples. He said that he was donating ALL of the money he earned from selling his land.

Immediately the Lord took Ananias’s life. Young men carried his body out.

Later, Sapphira came in. She told the same lie that her husband did. “Why did you lie to God? ” asked Peter. “The same men who carried your husband are waiting to carry you as well. ”

Sapphira died immediately. The young men carried her out and buried her as well.

Fear came upon the church and those who were near.
