It’s basically not used in English anymore. Ex. I wish I were…. ■ To employ the subjunctive, we need one part of the sentence trying to influence the other. It may or may not occur! ■ Ex. I want my parents to buy me a new car. ■ Quiero que mis padres me compren un nuevo car. ■ The subjunctive is very subjective!
The use the subjunctive in noun clauses, we need ■ Two clauses (subject + verb) ■ Separated by the word “que” ■ Change of subject. ■ The first clause must be a subjunctive trigger (UWEIRDO) ■ Quiero que Harold no hable todo el tiempo. – I want Harold not to talk all the time. (English) – I want that Harold does not talk all the time (Spanish)
