The sessions included a clinical background to the study and protocol review, an obtaining consent for the study session – with a researchers experience, a potential problems and clinical benefit of the study. The sessions were interactive to allow lots of discussion and recruitment tips. These were well attended and received positive feedback. Thanks for all who attended. Summer 2009 Newsletter Dates for the Diary – UK STROKE FORUM 2009 After last years success we will be having a stand at the UK Stroke Forum in Glasgow (1 -3 Dec 09). Please visit us on stand 41 Collaborators meeting – we will also be having a collaborators meeting at the UK Stroke Forum on Thursday 3 rd Dec at 8 am. We look forward to seeing you there. University Hospital of North Durham Yeovil Hospital For recruiting their 1 st SOS patients NIHSS Dr Roffe presented an update on the SOS study at the SRN conference in Newcastle on the 8 -9 th July 2009. During this she discussed the current spread of NIHSS scores recruited into the study. In order to obtain unbiased data she would like to recruit more sever strokes to the study as well as the mild ones. This is an acute stroke trial and Dr Roffe has said “it is important to get a true picture of the use of oxygen treatment for the full range of strokes – from the mild to acute range”.
