Meet James is a brand new teen driver. Whether it’s just going to the In-N-Out after school or going on a road trip, James is excited to hit the road with his friends. James is also super tech savvy kid and loves sharing things about his life through Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets. Knowing that James is a new driver and loves being plugged in, James’s parents really wish that they had a way to help James be more aware of the situation on the road and off his phone.

On the other hand the 360° Camera Integration displays images on the OLED interior of the car allowing the driver to see beyond the car interior obstacles. The HUD and Large LED Display allow drivers to easily process important information. Lastly, Voice Command Capabilities allow drivers to interact with the car interface without having to take their hands off the wheel and eyes off the road.

User Profiles and Recognition Once James hops in the car, it recognizes that it is him by syncing with his phone. Once this happens, the car adjusts seat position and other features of the car to meet James’s preset preferences.
Trip Tracking and Sharing Before James begins his trip to pick up Sam, James asks the car to share his trip with Sam. This way Sam will be able to know when James will arrive for pick up and where he is exactly.
Bluetooth Car-to-Car Connectivity James starts his drive to pick up Sam by getting on Highway 101 where he encounters some traffic. Bluetooth car-to-car connectivity allows James to see relevant information about cars within 300 feet, or 20 car lengths.
Navigation and My Surroundings Using the My Surroundings window on his 20 -inch LED display, James can see all the cars surrounding him updating in real time. James can see that a nearby car intends to switch lanes by looking at the My Surroundings window. Not wanting to miss his exit, James uses voice command to switch his primary and secondary display windows to feature the Navigation window more prominently.
Heads-Up Display (HUD) Warnings When a car to his left changes lanes, James is warned by his HUDembedded windshield. The HUD tints the far left side of the windshield red (and flickers) in order to attract James’s attention to the lane change. Similar HUD warnings on mirrors alert James to fastapproaching cars.
Car-to-Car Messages When picking up Sam at soccer practice, James meets a few friends who are going to In-N-Out and they decide to caravan together. On the way there, James loses sight of the other car. Using voice commands, James sends a message to the other car to make sure they are still following him and Sam.
No Blind Spot Driving Switching lanes in order to make the turn into the In-N-Out parking lot, James looks for cars in front of him and behind him. OLED exterior projections on the car’s non-window interior allow James to see nearby cars normally blocked by the car’s non-window surfaces.
Social Media James and Sam arrive at In-N-Out. Using voice commands, James shares his trip on Facebook. James can use this feature to upload a map of his trip route, pictures from his trip, and check into various locations with friends.
