SETTING • The story takes place at O’Connell bridge in Dublin Ireland, the time of year is June and is just before dark on a rooftop. The area is dark dirty and the night is full of the sounds of gun shots there are empty stores and piles of dead body's everywhere. • ‘’ the long June twilight faded into night. Dublin lay enveloped in darkness but for the dim light of the moon that shone through fleecy clouds. Casting a pale light as of approaching dawn over the streets and they dark waters of the Liffey. ’’

CHARACTER • The character is a republican sniper he looks very young but has eyes that have shown that he has seen death also dose not seem to have a lot of emotions and has very good field training he also is very calm and does not freak out when being shot at • ‘’almost immediately, a bullet flattened itself against the parapet of the roof. The sniper took another whiff and put out the cigarette. Then he swore softly and crawled to the left’’.

PLOT • The plot is about a Sniper apart of they IRA (Irish Republican Army) that is in place to kill the enemy sniper. After heavy fire and getting shot, with his one good arm he shot the enemy sniper not knowing that it was his own brother.

CONFLICT • The main conflict is the war between the IRA (Irish Republican Army) and the British army, but the main characters conflict is with a British enemy sniper. • VS

POINT OF VIEW • The point of view in this story is third person as there is someone narrating the main characters every move and what is going on In the back round.

THEME • The theme is very dark and graphic. The dark part of theme is the whole story is about him killing the enemy and surviving • It is graphic because the narrator is describing him being shot and the body's being left in the street
