The Smell of Time There was a smell of Time in the air tonight.

The Smell of Time There was a smell of Time in the air tonight. What did Time smell like? Like dust and clocks and people. And if you wondered what Time sounded like; it sounded like water running in a dark cave, voices crying, and dirt dropping down upon hollow box lids and rain. And, going further, what did Time look like? Time looked like snow dropping silently into a black room or it looked like a silent film in an ancient theater, one hundred billion faces falling like those New Year's balloons, down and down into nothing. That was how Time smelled and looked and sounded, and tonight you could almost touch Time. ---from a short story by Ray Bradbury

The Smell of Peace There was a smell of peace in the air tonight.

The Smell of Peace There was a smell of peace in the air tonight. What did peace smell like? Like morning dew on the tips of grass blades that pierce the golden sun. And if you wondered what peace sounded like, it sounded like the steady beat of a drum, and playful strum of a guitar that unites voices of love to almost a chant. And going further, what did peace look like? Peace looked like long dark dreadlocks hanging from a dreary head, like a baby's sleep that allows each breath to flow with the calmness of peace. That was how peace smelled and looked and sounded, and tonight you could almost touch peace. --Written by a Student
