GET OUT YOUR “CITATIONS” NOTES AND CHECK YOUR CITATION FOR YOUR FIRST SOURCE THAT IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE � Author (last name, first name) if several authors: alphabetize and write in a series in alphabetical order with the first name as Last name, first name If a long list of authors (more than four), use the first name (last name, first name) followed by et al. � “Article title” in quotation marks & capitalized (if you have this). Period INSIDE the quotation marks. � Title of the Website. � Publisher name, publishing date. write n. p. if no publisher name is available write n. d. if no date is available � Medium of publication: use Web. � Date you assessed the material in MLA format
NOW OPEN A WORD DOCUMENT AND FOLLOW THE STEPS CAREFULLY � Type the author name: Example: Thomas, Chris. End with a period.
� Add the article title in quotation marks. Example: Thomas, Chris. “Send in the Drones: A Drone Pilot Shares Insights About Costs and Outcomes. ” End with a period INSIDE the quotation marks.
� Add the title of the website in ITALICS � Example: Thomas, Chris. “Send in the Drones: A Drone Pilot Shares Insights About Costs and Outcomes. ” Science News. If you have page numbers (Inspire/Ebsco): Science News 21 March 2015: 30. End with a period.
� Add the publisher information, add a comma, followed by the date in MLA format. � Example: Thomas, Chris. “Send in the Drones: A Drone Pilot Shares Insights About Costs and Outcomes. ” Science News. Association of Science, 21 March 2015. End with a period.

NOW THE FUN BEGINS! � Create citations for ALL 5 sources and alphabetize them by author’s last name. Alphabetize works with no known author by their title. � Double space all citations, but do not create extra spaces between entries (set the spacing to 2. 0 – do not manually create spaces using the “Enter” key).
