Family The mom farms and tends the garden. � The dad hunts for the food for the family. � The daughter helped make baskets to gather berries and nuts. � The son sets traps in the woods. �
Tools & Medicine The men and boys made tools out of stone. � For example hammer stones were used like hammers. � They also made things like knives , arrow heads and more. �
Clothing The men and the boys wore breech cloth , leggings and moccasins. � The women and the girls wore a dress like things with moccasins. � So as you can see they where different. �
Area lived&language&transportation � The language is Seneca language. � They lived in the western part of New York. � They got around by canoe, sled dog and by foot.
Food & farming The women did the farming in the family. � The young girls made breads for example choke cherry bread. � They had many different for example strawberries and meal. �
Shelter(home) � They lived in houses called long houses. � It took a long time to build. � They were made with sticks , bark and vines.
Hunting & Gathering �The women did the gathering. �The men did the hunting. �The children helped the adults.
Games & Entertainment �They played a special hoop and dart game. �They played a lot of different games. �They played drums.
Ceremonies & Festivals �They had many festivals. �For example Thanksgiving. �Also they strawberry festival.
