ﺃﻘﻮﺍﻝ ﺍﻟﻘﺪﻳﺲ ﺍﻷﻨﺒﺎ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ The Sayings of St. Moses ﺩﺍﻭﻡ ﺍﻟﺼﻼﺓ ﻛﻞ ﺣﻴﻦ ﻟﻴﺴﺘﻨﻴﺮ ﻗﻠﺒﻚ ﺑﺎﻟﺮﺏ ﻷﻦ ﻣﺪﺍﻭﻣﺔ ﺍﻟﺼﻼﺓ ﺻﻴﺎﻧﺔ . ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺴﺒﻰ ﻭﻣﻦ ﻳﺘﻮﺍﻧﻰ ﻗﻠﻴﻼ ﻓﻘﺪ ﺳﺒﺘﻪ ﺍﻟﺨﻄﻴﺔ Pray all the time so that your heart will be enlightened by God, because the continuous prayer is a protection from captivity, and he who is lagging in that a little, gets captivated by the sin.

. ﻟﻨﻜﺮﻡ ﺃﻘﺮﺑﺎﺀﻧﺎ ﻓﻰ ﻛﻞ ﺍﻷﻤﻮﺭ ﻟﻨﺨﻠﺺ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻨﻮﻧﺔ Let’s honor our neighbors in all things so that we would saved from condemnation. ﻟﻨﺤﺐ ﺍﻟﻜﻞ ﺑﻤﺤﺒﺔ ﺧﺎﻟﺼﺔ ﻓﻨﺨﻠﺺ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻐﻴﺮﺓ . ﻭﺍﻟﺤﺴﺪ ﻓﺎﻟﻤﺤﺒﺔ ﻫﻰ ﻣﺼﺪﺭ ﻛﻞ ﺻﻼﺡ Let’s love everyone with pure love so that we would be saved from jealousy and envy, for love is the source of all goodness.

ﺃﻴﻬﺎ ﺍﻟﺤﺒﻴﺐ ﻣﺎ ﺩﺍﻣﺖ ﻟﻚ ﻓﺮﺻﺔ ﻓﺄﺮﺟﻊ ﻭﺗﻘﺪﻡ ﺍﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﻤﺴﻴﺢ ﺑﺘﻮﺑﺔ ﺧﺎﻟﺼﺔ ﺳﺎﺭﻉ ﻗﺒﻞ ﺃﻦ ﻳﻐﻠﻖ ﺍﻟﺒﺎﺏ ﻓﺘﺒﻜﻰ ﺑﻜﺎﺀ ﻣﺮﺍ ﻓﺘﺒﻞ ﺧﺪﻳﻚ ﺑﺎﻟﺪﻣﻮﻉ . ﺑﺪﻭﻥ ﻓﺎﺋﺪﺓ My beloved, as long as you still have an opportunity, return to God and approach Christ with sincere repentance. Make haste before the door is closed, so as not to cry bitterly, and get your cheeks wet with tears but in vain.

ﻭﺍﻧﺎ ﻣﻨﺼﺮﻑ : ﺃﻤﺎ ﺍﻻﺥ ﺍﻟﻐﺮﻳﺐ ﻓﻠﻤﺎ ﻟﻢ ﻳﺠﺪ ﻟﻪ ﺩﺍﻟﺔ ﻋﻨﺪ ﺍﻟﺸﻴﺦ ﻗﺎﻝ ﻓﺨﺮﺟﺎ ﻣﻌ ﻓﻄﻠﺐ ﺍﻟﻴﻪ ﺍﻥ ﻳﻤﻀﻰ ﺑﻪ ﺍﻟﻰ ﻗﻼﻳﺔ ﺍﻧﺒﺎ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ ، ﻣﻌﻚ ﻛﺬﻟﻚ . ﺍﻟﺬﻯ ﻛﺎﻥ ﺍﻭﻻ ﻟﺼ ﻓﻠﻤﺎ آﺘﻰ ﺍﻟﻴﻪ ﻗﺒﻠﻪ ﺑﻔﺮﺡ ﻭﺍﺳﺘﻀﺎﻓﻪ ﻭﺻﺮﻓﻪ However, when the stranger did not find warm welcoming from St. Arsanius, he said: “I am leaving with you too”. Then, both of them went out and the stranger asked the brother to take him to the cell of St. Moses who was formerly a thief. So when he reached the cell, St. Moses greeted him joyfully and hosted him and then let him go.

ﻛﺬﻟﻚ ، ﻳﺪﺧﻞ ﺍﻟﻴﻪ ﻛﻞ ﻣﻦ ﻳﻘﺼﺪﻩ ، ﻛﻤﺜﻞ ﺑﻴﺖ ﻻ ﺑﺎﺏ ﻟﻪ ﻭﻻ ﺍﻗﻔﺎﻝ . ﺍﻻﻧﺴﺎﻥ ﺍﻟﺬﻯ ﻻ ﻳﻀﺒﻂ ﻟﺴﺎﻧﻪ The person who does not control his tongue, resembles a house with no door or locks, which is easily entered by anyone. ﻭﻋﺪﻡ ﺿﺒﻂ ، ﻣﻦ ﻳﻬﺘﻢ ﺑﻀﺒﻂ ﻟﺴﺎﻧﻪ ﻳﺪﻝ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻧﻪ ﻣﺤﺐ ﻟﻠﻔﻀﻴﻠﺔ . ﺍﻟﻠﺴﺎﻥ ﻳﺪﻝ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻥ ﺩﺍﺧﻞ ﺻﺎﺣﺒﻪ ﺧﺎﻝ ﻣﻦ ﺃﻰ ﻋﻤﻞ ﺻﺎﻟﺢ He who cares about controlling his tongue, proves that he loves virtue, whereas the lack of controlling one’s tongue indicates that the person is internally empty of any goodness.

. ﺃﺤﻔﻆ ﻟﺴﺎﻧﻚ ﻟﻴﺴﻜﻦ ﻓﻰ ﻗﻠﺒﻚ ﺧﻮﻑ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ Protect your tongue to have a godly fear dwelling inside your heart. ﺃﺒﻐﺾ ﻛﻼﻡ ﺍﻟﻌﺎﻟﻢ ﻛﻰ ﺗﺒﺼﺮ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺑﻘﻠﺒﻚ ﻷﻦ ﺍﻟﺬﻯ ﻳﺨﻠﻂ . ﺣﺪﻳﺜﻪ ﺑﺤﺪﻳﺚ ﺃﻬﻞ ﺍﻟﻌﺎﻟﻢ ﻳﺰﻋﺞ ﻗﻠﺒﻪ Dislike the worldly speech to be able to see God with your heart, because he who mixes his speech with that of the people of this world, disturbs his heart.

: ﺃﺮﺑﻌﺔ ﻣﺼﺎﺩﺭ ﻟﻈﻠﻤﺔ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﻞ . ﻣﻘﺖ ﺍﻟﺮﻓﻴﻖ – ﺍﻻﺯﺩﺭﺍﺀ ﺑﻪ – ﺣﺴﺪﻩ – ﺳﻮﺀ ﺍﻟﻈﻦ ﺑﻪ Four things are the source of the gloominess of the mind: hating the neighbor, despising him, envying him and thinking badly about him. ﻻ ﺗﻜﻦ ﻗﺎﺳﻰ ﺍﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﺧﻴﻚ ﻓﺎﻧﻨﺎ ﺟﻤﻴﻌﻨﺎ ﻗﺪ ﺗﻐﻠﺒﻨﺎ . ﺍﻷﻔﻜﺎﺭ ﺍﻟﺸﺮﻳﺮﺓ Don’t be hard hearted towards your brother, because all of us could be overwhelmed by evil thoughts.

. ﺍﺣﻔﻆ ﺳﻤﻌﻚ ﻟﺌﻼ ﺗﺠﻤﻊ ﻟﻚ ﺣﺰﻧ ﻓﻰ ﺫﺍﺗﻚ Protect your ears, lest you add sorrow and grief to your soul. ﺍﻳﺎﻙ ﺍﻥ ﺗﺴﻤﻊ ﺑﺴﻘﻄﺔ ﺍﺣﺪ ﺍﺧﻮﺗﻚ ﻟﺌﻼ ﺗﻜﻮﻥ . ﺩﻧﺘﻪ ﺧﻔﻴﺔ Beware not to hear about your brother's fall, lest you might have secretly judged him.

ﻟﻢ ﻳﻜﻦ ﻫﻨﺎﻙ ﺑﻴﺖ ﺧﺎﻝ ، ﻣﻜﺘﻮﺏ ﺍﻧﻪ ﻟﻤﺎ ﻗﺘﻞ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ ﺃﺒﻜﺎﺭ ﺍﻟﻤﺼﺮﻳﻴﻦ " ﺍﺫﺍ : ﻣﻦ ﻣﻴﺖ ﻓﺴﺄﻠﻪ ﺍﻻﺧﻮﺓ ﻗﺎﺋﻠﻴﻦ ﻣﺎ ﻣﻌﻨﻰ ﻫﺬﺍ ؟ ﻓﻘﺎﻝ ﺍﻟﺸﻴﺦ ﻋﻠﻤﻨﺎ ﺍﻧﻨﺎ ﻛﻠﻨﺎ ﺧﻄﺎﺓ ﻓﻠﻨﺤﺬﺭ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻥ ﻧﺘﺮﻙ ﺧﻄﺎﻳﺎﻧﺎ ﻭﻧﺪﻳﻦ ﺧﻄﺎﻳﺎ It is written that when the Lord has killed the firstborn of the Egyptians, there was no house without a dead person. When the brethren asked about the meaning of this, the saint replied: “if we knew that we are all sinners, then we must be careful not to ignore our sins and condemn the sins of our neighbors,

ﺃﻤﺎ ﺍﻟﺬﻯ ، ﻟﻴﻜﻦ ﻗﻠﺒﻚ ﻣﻦ ﻧﺤﻮ ﺍﻷﻔﻜﺎﺭ ﺷﺠﺎﻋ ﺟﺪ ﻓﺘﺨﻒ ﻋﻨﻚ ﺣﺪﺗﻬﺎ ﻛﻤﺎ ﺍﻥ ﺍﻟﺬﻯ ﻳﻔﺰﻉ ﻣﻨﻬﺎ ﻳﺜﺒﺖ ﻋﺪﻡ ، ﻳﺨﺎﻑ ﻣﻨﻬﺎ ﻓﺎﻧﻬﺎ ﺗﺮﻋﺒﻪ ﻓﻴﺨﻮﺭ ﺍﻳﻤﺎﻧﻪ ﺑﺎﻟﻠﻪ ﺣﻘ ﻭﻟﻦ ﻳﺴﺘﻄﻴﻊ ﺍﻟﺼﻼﺓ ﻗﺪﺍﻡ ﻳﺴﻮﻉ ﺳﻴﺪﻩ ﻣﻦ ﻛﻞ ﻗﻠﺒﻪ ﻣﺎ . ﻟﻢ ﻳﻄﺮﺩ ﺍﻷﻔﻜﺎﺭ ﺃﻮﻻ Let your heart be very courageous towards thoughts so that they might become less intense. For he who is scared of thoughts, it scares him till he collapses. Also, he who is terrified of thoughts, proves his lack of faith in God, and will never be able to pray from all his heart in front of His Lord Jesus Christ, unless he first casts the thoughts away.

ﺃﻌﺪ ﻧﻔﺴﻚ ﻟﻠﻘﺎﺀ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ ﻓﺘﻌﻤﻞ ﺃﻔﺤﺺ ﻧﻔﺴﻚ ، ﺣﺴﺐ ﻣﺸﻴﺌﺘﻪ ﻫﺎ ﻫﻨﺎ ﻭﺃﻌﺮﻑ ﻣﺎﺫﺍ ﻳﻌﻮﺯﻙ ﻓﺘﻨﺠﻮ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺸﺪﺓ ﻓﻰ ﺳﺎﻋﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﻮﺕ ﻭﻳﺒﺼﺮ ﺃﺨﻮﺗﻚ ﺃﻌﻤﺎﻟﻚ . ﻓﺘﺄﺨﺬﻫﻢ ﺍﻟﻐﻴﺮﺓ ﺍﻟﺼﺎﻟﺤﺔ Prepare yourself to meet the Lord, so that you will act according to His will. Examine yourself now and know the things you lack. Thus you will be saved from the hardships in the hour of your death; and when your brothers see your works, they shall be taken by good zealous.

ﻭﻣﻦ ﻳﺘﻤﺴﻜﻦ ﻣﻦ ، ﻣﻦ ﻳﺤﺘﻤﻞ ﻇﻠﻤ ﻣﻦ ﺃﺠﻞ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ ﻳﻌﺘﺒﺮ ﺷﻬﻴﺪ ﻭﻣﻦ ﻳﺼﻴﺮ ﺟﺎﻫﻼ ﻣﻦ ﺍﺟﻞ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ ، ﺃﺠﻞ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ ﻳﻌﻮﻟﻪ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ . ﻳﺤﻜﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ He who endures injustice for the sake of The Lord, is considered a martyr; and he who humbles himself for the sake of The Lord, is supported by The Lord; and he who turns into an ignorant for the sake of The Lord, is granted wisdom by The Lord.

ﺍﻋﻂ ﺍﻟﻤﺤﺘﺎﺟﻴﻦ ﺑﺴﺮﻭﺭ ﻭﺭﺿﻰ ﻟﺌﻼ ﺗﺨﺠﻞ ﺑﻴﻦ . ﺍﻟﻘﺪﻳﺴﻴﻦ ﻭﺗﺤﺮﻡ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻣﺠﺎﺩﻫﻢ Give the needy with real pleasure and satisfaction lest you would be ashamed among the saints and be deprived of their glory. . ﺍﺣﺐ ﺍﻟﻤﺴﺎﻛﻴﻦ ﻟﺘﺨﻠﺺ ﺑﺴﺒﺒﻬﻢ ﻓﻰ ﺃﻮﺍﻥ ﺍﻟﺸﺪﺓ Love the poor to be saved because of them at the time of adversity.

: ﺛﻼﺛﺔ ﺃﻤﻮﺭ ﻳﻔﺮﺡ ﺑﻬﺎ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﻞ . ﻭﺍﻟﺒﻌﺪ ﻋﻦ ﺍﻟﻤﻜﺮ ، ﺍﻟﺘﻔﻜﻴﺮ ﻓﻰ ﺍﻷﻤﺮ ﻗﺒﻞ ﺍﻻﻗﺪﺍﻡ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ، ﺗﻤﻴﻴﺰ ﺍﻟﺨﻴﺮ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺸﺮ The mind rejoices with three things: the differentiation between good and evil, thinking about the matter before attempting it, and avoiding hypocrisy. : ﺛﻼﺛﺔ ﺃﻤﻮﺭ ﻳﺴﺘﻨﻴﺮ ﺑﻬﺎ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﻞ ، ﻭﺍﻟﺼﺒﺮ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺎ ﻳﻨﺎﻟﻚ ﻣﻦ ﺃﻌﺪﺍﺋﻚ ، ﺍﻷﺤﺴﺎﻥ ﺍﻟﻰ ﻣﻦ ﺃﺴﺎﺀ ﺍﻟﻴﻚ . ﻭﺗﺮﻙ ﺍﻟﻨﻈﺮ ﺃﻮ ﺍﻟﺤﺴﺪ ﻟﻤﻦ ﻳﺘﻘﺪﻣﻚ ﻓﻰ ﺍﻟﺪﻧﻴﺎ Three things that enlighten the mind: being kind towards those who have offended you; having patience towards those who have caused you harm; giving up jealousy or envying those who surpass you in this world.

ﻭﺍﻟﻜﺒﺮﻳﺎﺀ ﻫﻰ ﺃﺴﺎﺱ ، ﺗﻮﺍﺿﻊ ﺍﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻳﺘﻘﺪﻡ ﺍﻟﻔﻀﺎﺋﻞ ﻛﻠﻬﺎ . ﺍﻟﺸﺮﻭﺭ ﻛﻠﻬﺎ The humbleness of the heart surpasses all the virtues, while pride is the source of all evils. ﺃﺤﺘﻤﻞ ﺍﻟﺨﺰﻯ ﻭﺍﻟﺤﺰﻥ ﻣﻦ ﺃﺠﻞ ﺍﺳﻢ ﺍﻟﻤﺴﻴﺢ ﺑﺎﺗﻀﺎﻉ ﻭﻗﻠﺐ . ﻓﺴﻴﻜﻮﻥ ﻟﻚ ﺍﻟﺮﺏ ﻗﻮﺓ ، ﺷﻐﺎﻝ ﻭﺍﻃﺮﺡ ﺍﻣﺎﻣﻪ ﺿﻌﻔﻚ Endure the shame and sorrow with humbleness, and a struggling heart, for the sake of the name of Christ, and cast your weakness before Him, and God Himself will be your strength.

. ﻟﻨﺘﺤﻤﻞ ﺍﻟﺴﺐ ﻭﺍﻟﺘﻌﻴﻴﺮ ﻟﻨﺘﺨﻠﺺ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻜﺒﺮﻳﺎﺀ Let’s endure insult and humiliation to get rid of pride. ﻻ ﺗﺜﻖ ﺑﻨﻔﺴﻚ ﻣﺎ ﺩﻣﺖ ﻓﻰ ﺍﻟﺠﺴﺪ ﺣﺘﻰ ﺗﻌﺒﺮ ﻋﻨﻚ . ﺳﻼﻃﻴﻦ ﺍﻟﻈﻠﻤﺔ Do not trust yourself as long as you are still in the flesh, until the sovereignty of darkness passes you over.

ﺍﻟﻨﻮﻡ ، ﺍﻟﺸﺒﻊ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻨﻮﻡ ﻳﺜﻴﺮ ﺍﻷﻔﻜﺎﺭ ﻭﺧﻼﺹ ﺍﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻫﻮ ﺍﻟﺴﻬﺮ ﺍﻟﺪﺍﺋﻢ . ﺍﻟﻜﺜﻴﺮ ﻳﻮﻟﺪ ﺍﻟﺨﻴﺎﻻﺕ ﺍﻟﻜﺜﻴﺮﺓ ﻭﺍﻟﺴﻬﺮ ﺑﻤﻌﺮﻓﺔ ﻳﺰﻫﺮ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﻞ ﻭﻳﺜﻤﺮﻩ . ﺍﻟﻨﻮﻡ ﺍﻟﻜﺜﻴﺮ ﻳﺠﻌﻞ ﺍﻟﺬﻫﻦ ﻛﺜﻴﻔ ﻣﻈﻠﻤ ﻭﺍﻟﺴﻬﺮ ﺑﻤﻘﺪﺍﺭ ﻳﺠﻌﻠﻪ ﻟﻄﻴﻔ ﻧﻴﺮ . ﻣﻦ ﻳﻨﺎﻡ ﺑﻤﻌﺮﻓﺔ ﻫﻮ ﺍﻓﻀﻞ ﻣﻤﻦ ﻳﺴﻬﺮ ﻓﻰ ﺍﻟﻜﻼﻡ ﺍﻟﺒﺎﻃﻞ Thoughts are aroused by too much sleep, while the heart’s salvation is in continuous watchfulness. Too much sleep generates much imaginations, whereas wise watchfulness flourishes the mind and makes it fruitful. Too much sleep causes the mind to be dense and dark, while moderate watchfulness makes it gentle and enlightened. He who sleeps moderately is better than he who spends the night in nonsense talks.

. ﺍﺣﻔﻆ ﻋﻴﻨﻴﻚ ﻟﺌﻼ ﻳﻤﺘﻠﺊ ﻗﻠﺒﻚ ﺍﺷﺒﺎﺣ ﺧﻔﻴﺔ Protect your eyes lest your heart gets filled with invisible ghosts. . ﺍﺫﻛﺮ ﻣﻠﻜﻮﺕ ﺍﻟﺴﻤﻮﺍﺕ ﻟﺘﺘﺤﺮﻙ ﻓﻴﻚ ﺷﻬﻮﺗﻬﺎ Remember the kingdom of Heaven to get motivated by the longings for it.

. ﻓﻜﺮ ﻓﻰ ﻧﺎﺭ ﺟﻬﻨﻢ ﻟﻜﻴﻤﺎ ﺗﻤﻘﺖ ﺃﻌﻤﺎﻟﻬﺎ Think about Hell so that you would despise its related deeds. ﺫﻛﺮ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻨﻮﻧﺔ ﻳﻮﻟﺪ ﻓﻰ ﺍﻟﻔﻜﺮ ﺗﻘﻮﻯ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ . ﻭﻗﻠﺔ ﺧﻮﻑ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺗﻀﻞ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﻞ Remembering the judgment day generates godliness in one’s mind, and the lack of godly fear strays the mind.

ﺣﺪﺙ ﻣﺮﺓ ﺍﻥ ﺍﻋﻠﻦ ﻓﻰ ﺍﻻﺳﻘﻴﻂ ﺍﻥ ﻳﺼﺎﻡ ﺍﺳﺒﻮﻉ ﻭﺗﺼﺎﺩﻑ ﻭﻗﺘﺌﺬ ﺍﻥ ﻓﺄﺼﻠﺢ ﻟﻬﻢ ﻃﺒﻴﺨ ﻳﺴﻴﺮ ﻓﻠﻤﺎ. ﺯﺍﺭ ﺍﻻﻧﺒﺎ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ ﺃﺨﻮﺓ ﻣﺼﺮﻳﻮﻥ : ﺍﺑﺼﺮ ﺍﻟﻘﺎﻃﻨﻮﻥ ﺑﺠﻮﺍﺭﻩ ﺍﻟﺪﺧﺎﻥ ﺍﺷﺘﻜﻮﺍ ﻟﺨﺪﺍﻡ ﺍﻟﻤﺬﺑﺢ ﻗﺎﺋﻠﻴﻦ . ﻫﻮﺫﺍ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ ﻗﺪ ﺣﻞ ﺍﻟﻮﺻﻴﺔ ﺍﺫ ﺍﻋﺪ ﻃﺒﻴﺨ It was once announced in the Wilderness of Askeet that there will be a one week fasting, and it happened at that time that some Egyptian brethren came to visit Ava Moses.
