The Appointed Times �Genesis 1: 14 �King James Version (KJV) And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: � 14

�Signs-Owth (Hebrew) � 226 'owth oth probably from 225 (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc. : --mark, miracle, (en-)sign, token.

Mo’ed �Season-4150 mow`ed mo-ade' or moled {mo-ade'}; or (feminine) moweadah , an appointment, i. e. a fixed time or season; specifically, a festival; conventionally a year; by implication, an assembly (as convened for a definite purpose); technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting; also a signal (as appointed beforehand): --appointed (sign, time), (place of, solemn) assembly, congregation, (set, solemn) feast, (appointed, due) season, (set) time (appointed).

God’s Calendar �God’s calendar is based on both the sun and the moon so that His appointed times or divine appointments would fall at the same time each year and coincide with the harvests of barley, wheat , and the grapes and the olives. In order for this to work out a leap month is added 7 times in 19 years.

In The Beginning �It is believed in the Hebrew oral tradition that Adam was created on the first day of Tishri. (Sept. /Oct. ) �Originally this was the first month on God’s Calendar. �We see from Genesis 1 that God’s days start at evening(twilight). �God calls them the first day, the second day, the first month, the second month, etc.

In Noah’s Time �Genesis 8: 4 King James Version (KJV) � 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. �At this time the seventh month would have been Nissan (Nisan, Abib) (Mar. /April)

At the Time of the Exodus �Exodus 12: 1 -2 Amplified Bible (AMP) � 12 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, 2 This month shall be to you the beginning of months, the first month of the year to you. (Ex. 13: 3 -4, Identifies the month of Abib) �Now. . the month of Nissan (Nissan, Abib) is the first month �Nissan is the first month of the sacred year. �Nissan 1 is called Rosh Chodesh Nissan

The Civil Year �Tishri is now the 7 th month of the sacred year, but it is still the first month in the civil year. �The first of Tishri is today called Rosh Ha Shana or Head of the year (Jewish New Year) �God’s 7 appointed dates all fall within the first 7 months of His sacred year. �We are going to take a close look at the first 3.

The Feasts of Jehovah �Leviticus 23: 1 -2 Amplified Bible (AMP) � 23 The Lord said to Moses, 2 Say to the Israelites, The set feasts or appointed seasons of the Lord which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, even My set feasts, are these: �We already established that season = an appointed time or a fixed time

�You probably already know that the feasts of Passover, Unleavened bread , and Firstfruits commemorate the release of Israel from the bondage of Egypt by God’s hand. But did you know that they were also prophetic?

Convocation Result of search for "convocation": 4744 miqra' mikraw' from 7121; something called out, i. e. a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal: --assembly, calling, convocation, reading.

How we would say it today “ Tell all of Israel and say to them concerning the divinely appointed times of the Lord, which you will call out as holy dress rehearsals even these are the circled dates on My calendar. Lev. 23: 1 -2

Passover Leviticus 23: 4 -5 New International version 4 ‘“These are the LORD’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: 5 the LORD’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.

�Exodus 12: 3 -5 New International Version Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb[a] for his family… 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect… � 6 And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall [each] kill [his] lamb in the evening. � 3

�Notice the Israelites were to take their lamb on the 10 th day of the month of Nissan and keep it until the 14 th day of the month. This was to observe the lambs and make certain they contained no defect or blemish. �Do you know what event took place on the 10 th day of the month of Nissan?

Palm Sunday

The Hallel �Psalm 118: 24 -26 American Standard Version 24 This is the day which Jehovah hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. � 25 Save now, we beseech thee, O Jehovah: O Jehovah, we beseech thee, send now prosperity. � 26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of Jehovah: We have blessed you out of the house of Jehovah. �“Baruch Haba Bashem Adonai!”

“Haggada”- to tell, to show forth �Bitter Herbs –Parsley , Chicory, Endive-The bitterness of slavery in Egypt / Messiah’s suffering. �Unleavened bread- Left Egypt in haste, no time for bread to rise / leaven a type of sin- Jesus took all sin upon himself. �Roasted lamb-Roasting a type for judgment -God’s judgment against Egypt-/Jesus took our judgment for sin upon Himself

The Fruit of the Vine �Exodus 6: 6 -7 King James Version (KJV) Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: � 7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. � 6

Keriah �The ritual of mourning – tearing , rending of one’s garment from top to bottom. �Genesis 37: 33 -34 New International Version 33 He recognized it and said, “It is my son’s robe! Some ferocious animal has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces. ” � 34 Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many days.

Unleavened Bread �At twilight on Nissan 15 - Just after the Lord Jesus is buried, the feast of unleavened bread starts. It is to be kept for 7 days. It commemorates the children of Israel leaving Egypt in haste. �In scripture leaven is a type of sin. �The Lord Jesus is the remover of sin.

�Leviticus 23: 6 -8 American Standard Version � 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Jehovah: seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread. � 7 In the first day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work. � 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah seven days: in the seventh day is a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.

Jesus runs the money changers out of the temple �Do you know what month it was when Jesus cleared the temple? �John 2: 13 -15 American Standard Version (ASV) � 13 And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. � 14 And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: � 15 and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables;

Firstfruits �Leviticus 23: 9 -11 American Standard Version 9 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring the sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest unto the priest: � 11 and he shall wave the sheaf (omer) before Jehovah, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. � 10

Was This Really Fulfilled Exactly? Fulfilled Exactly !!!! �Matthew 27: 52 -53 Amplified Bible (AMP) The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep [a]in death were raised [to life]; � 53 And coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. � 52

Praise Be to God ! �The first and best sheaf of barley was harvested and brought to the temple as a thanksgiving offering to the Lord of the Harvest. It was representative of the whole harvest serving as a pledge that the rest of the harvest would be realized! �We too shall rise!!!

A promise to the body of Christ � 1 Corinthians 15: 20 -24 Amplified Bible (AMP) � 20 But the fact is that Christ (the Messiah) has been raised from the dead, and He became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep [in death]. � 21 For since [it was] through a man that death [came into the world, it is] also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead [has come]. � 22 For just as [because of their [a]union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also [by virtue of their [b]union of nature] shall in Christ be made alive. � 23 But each in his own rank and turn: Christ (the Messiah) [is] the firstfruits, then those who are Christ’s [own will be resurrected] at His coming. � 24 After that comes the end (the completion), when He delivers over the kingdom to God the Father after rendering inoperative and abolishing every [other] rule and every authority and power.

Do We Need to Keep the Feasts? Colossians 2: 16 -17 New Living Translation 16 So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. 17 For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.
