• April 1920 • A store owner in Braintree, MA is shot and killed • Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were arrested in the murder (Italian Immigrants) • S&V were known anarchists but the evidence against them in the murder was not solid • They were convicted and executed • Prior to execution there were riots to protest the guilty verdict • 1960 s forensic evidence linked Sacco’s gun to the murder Sacco and Vanzetti
