The REALFUTURE Tense Foundation Je All you need is: + INFINITIVE + ai You can think of it as a formula like you use in Maths: Je + Infinitive + ai = Real Future Tense Note that with ‘RE’ verbs, you must take off the ‘E’ from the infinitive before adding an ending.

The REAL FUTURE Tense What is an INFINITIVE? • An infinitive is a particular form of the verb (meaning To……… e. g. Jouer = To play) • An infinitive is the verb you will find in the dictionary • An infinitive must end in –ER, -IR or -RE

The REAL FUTURE Tense Examples ER IR RE JOUER FINIR VENDRE = To play = To finish = To sell

To the infinitive you add a special ending for ‘je’ Je JOUERAI I will play Je FINIRAI I will finish Je VENDRAI I will sell Note that with ‘RE’ verbs, you must take off the ‘E’ from the infinitive before adding an ending.
