Surah al-Baqarah (Look in your pre reading pack). • This is the Surah of the Cow, the longest Surah in the Quran. • This Surah describes how the children of Israel took the Golden Calf for worship when prophet Moses left them for 40 nights. • Its themes include the Islamic community, the struggle in Gods path and the nature of God. • It advises the communities that their own good relies upon accepting the guidance of the holy prophet. • In the Surah Allah has pointed out the characteristics of the Hypocrites.
