Fuerteventura is one of the Canary islands. It has 13 protected areas divided into different categories. They are:

One Rural Park: 1. Rural Park of Betancuria

Six Natural Monuments: Natural Monument Malpais de La Arena Natural Monument Tindaya Mountain Natural Monument Gairía

Two protected landscapes: 1. Protected Landscape Grande Malpais 2. Protected Landscape Vallebrón

And one Place of scientific interest 1. The Matorral Beach

Prohibitions in protected areas - - Exploitation and sale of natural resources of the protected areas, such as granite or sand Making fire Pursue, hunt and capture protected animals Placing commercial advertising within the space.

- - Alter or destroy the signals from the protected natural area. Camping or use of vehicles, which can damage the natural environment Introducing non-native species of fauna and flora. Any use or activity that harms the environment
