So when the ridicule, scorn, rejection, and persecution rain down we must remind ourselves that our destiny is the same as that of Jesus. We are victors waiting for the parade to begin. When the Gospel of Christ was preached, there was opposition and bloodshed! Christ must conquer evil that is in the way of peace. Whenever Jesus Christ is preached and proclaimed, opposition of the Evil Doer will always be aroused…BUT the peace of Christ will reign victorious when Jesus comes again and establishes a New Heaven and New Earth! Evil has to be put down before peace can prevail. The Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God! “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any doubleedged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. ” Heb 4: 12

TAKING UP YOUR CROSS… Matt. 10: 37 -42 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward. ” What does it mean to “take up your cross”? What are “the costs” from carrying a cross? What are “the rewards” from serving Christ and His children?
