THE PRODUCTION PIPELINE Boo
PRE-PRODUCTION Pre-Production is important to plan out different roles and jobs each employee would take to regulate and work together in their own departments, it involves 3 different teams such as Modelling, Animation and Programming to be in different teams and put together a final piece whilst also co-ordinating with the other 2 teams that they aren't mainly looking into. This task is important to the future of the development because the teams would know what to work on or improve over time which includes making extra content for a DLC/Expansion or new bug fix to stop glitches.
POST PRODUCTION
Previsualisation are scenes that show the visualization of complex scenes in a movie before filming, it is also a concept in photography to prepare for getting a great image of a view or city etc. The advantage of using this is that it allows the director to experiment different pieces of lighting or scenes which have crowds in making them know that there'll be a crowd of people there or that they'll be someone giving a speech about something in specific. If there is a fight scene in a movie too, the director would use this to plan out each characters movement and action in this scene. PREVISUALISATION
Design ideas for Characters, object's(building's, Items) and obstacles such as enemy's and barriers. Concepts are Used to describe the whole scene. For example if the scene is set in a desert all concepts will have to be based around the desert theme. Concepts are used to get a rough sketch of everything. Say if there was an extremely designed castle the concept of the castle would probably look like 4 huge stone walls with a big gate. CONCEPTS
Producers are there to make sure everyone knows what is happening and when. For example say there is a deadline it is the producer's job to make sure that everyone makes the deadline. Each person has a certain job the producer makes sure that their producing enough and makes sure they don't fall behind everyone else by giving them advise on how to stay on track. PROMOTING AND EVENTS
QA testing is used to ensure the organization is providing the best product possible to the audience. They must make sure the quality standards are as best as possible and efficient. They will also be testing for bugs, so they are able to tackle the problem early and won't have to worry about it in the future. QA TESTING AND BUG FIXES
Each team would take their time in waiting or creating assets that would be used in the product such as: The Modelling Team creating models and texturing over them carefully to make Modelling: 3 D Modeler, it feel alive and well. Animator, Rigger The Animation Team which could add an action to scenery or movement to Animation: a character which would then be made work by the programmers/scripters. The Programming Team that makes the movement work properly in the production and look over anything like an enemy making the enemy restart back at a checkpoint if they die. The VFX Team which adds effects such as an explosion from shooting an explosive barrel in game with a bullet or transparent look of glass or wind that passes by.
