Introduction/Description In the film, “The Princess Diaries” it follows the story of a teenage girl named Mia Thermopolis who discovers she is the heir to the throne of the European country, Genovia. Her strict, yet caring, grandmother comes to reveal to her that she is the next in line to be the Queen, and that she will give her ‘princess lessons’ so she can be fully prepared.

She doesn’t care what others opinions are of her, and she enjoys wearing what is practical and comfortable. A However, controversially, the movie gets very stereotypical. Mia is presented as a “perfect princess” and is transformed into a woman who always had to be full of poise and have the perfect hair and makeup.
