The Preparation for Brotherhood Program The Preparation for Brotherhood program is the Fraternity’s model 8 course pledge program that combines pledge education, the Fraternity’s best pledge activities and literary exercises and Sigma Chi’s core values in a blended learning approach. The program will feature the traditional Magister-led pledge education with state-of-the-art online learning on Sigma Chi U, the Fraternity’s new learning management system. The Preparation for Brotherhood program is Sigma Chi leading the way in education and leadership development. It gets the entire Sigma Chi international experience involved in making your pledgeship the best one possible.
Instructional Objectives Gain a comprehensive orientation to Sigma Chi – its history, values, ideals and programs, as well as, understand Sigma Chi’s commitment/contributions to the Greek world, campus and community, Demonstrate knowledge of Sigma Chi operations and governance at the local chapter, province and international levels, Develop a deep sense of personal responsibility to cultivate true brotherhood with members of the Fraternity, Develop an understanding of Sigma Chi values-based leadership and its application to their daily life, and Be prepared to begin a lifelong commitment to Sigma Chi through exposure to our Ritual.
INSPIRATION EDUCATION APPLICATION
The Instructional Process of P 4 B Education for Preparation for Brotherhood will include: ü E-learning on Sigma Chi U; ü Group Sessions that occur weekly; ü Experiential activities that occur weekly; ü Application activities that occur weekly; ü Journaling that allows personal reflection for all 8 weeks of Preparation for Brotherhood.
It Takes a Chapter This program is going to take everyone’s support to succeed … It’s not all on the Magister anymore.

Most learning and training completed on Sigma Chi U will be interactive content, and in regards to Preparation for Brotherhood, pledges will complete anywhere from three to five online activities during one course (week).

To Be A Big Brother, you must… Be an active member, In good standing academically and financially as a Sigma Chi, Have an unequivocal commitment to the ideals of Sigma Chi and completed Ritual Obligations, Be willing to be a role model, Not eligible Consul and Magister, and any brother who has not yet met his obligation or is not in good standing. Attend an orientation with the Magister prior to the Preparation for Brotherhood Program and be willing to make the time commitment to meet weekly with their Little Brother during the Program.
