How a Identity lead hub model could support PSDII and Open APIs IDP IDP 3 Independent hub 4 & 6 a 2 a & 6 b 1 5 The Process 1. Customer makes request to Money Supermarket (MS) to aggregate their data 2. MS connects to hub 3. The Hub asks the customer to authenticate with their Identity Provider (IDP) 4. The hub confirms the authentication to both MS and the customer’s bank (Barclays) 5. Barclays confirms the data sharing request with the customer 6. When confirmed Barclays shares the requested data with MS via the hub Potential Advantages • Puts the customer at the heart of the transaction • Drives a consent and control model • Provides standardisation for ID&V • Hub acts as intermediary between actors in the transaction, can also be used for sharing signals to keep the eco-system safe • Still uses standard API connections 13 I QED Lunch Debate - Consumer Data in Financial Services I October 2016 I Confidential
