OUTLINE OF CONCEPT • The purpose of the Final Major Project is to produces

OUTLINE OF CONCEPT • The purpose of the Final Major Project is to produces any type of media product that involves pre, pro and post production. For this project I will be making a short film with the genre's of Adventure, Fantasy and Action. It will also contain no dialogue in which the story will tell itself to the audience, from the character and Foley sounds that will show throughout the short film. • As from explain what my short film will contain and present to my audience, the focus of the this project is to show myself as a young filmmaker that I can achieve a film that doesn't have a genre with sci-fi within it and to show the audience that emotional feeling when finding out that my character is in a wheel chair after watching him do all those activities not really knowing what is going on until the end. I am also focusing on the narrative for this short film as for reflecting on the past two Final Major Projects, I haven't achieved producing a short film that makes a lot of sense, which I hope from all the research I have received analysed will make be a better filmmaker to be successful on my goals.

RUN TIME • I have been deciding on whether my short film should be

RUN TIME • I have been deciding on whether my short film should be 4 minutes, or be given another minute to make sure I don't have less content in my short film, the reason for this being is that I have scene's where my character is surfing, mountain biking and walking on a beach. I would like to get as much content as I can to entertain the audience but also keeping it simple with shot types, I also think that with having the dark room and my character drawing away it might be best to have this short film on 5 minutes running time to make sure that I will get the simplest of shots but still getting the story for my short film. • If I don't exceed my 5 minute goal for this short film, I will included the credits as part of the short film to meet that running time.

TARGET AUDIENCE • Overall, from the primary and secondary research I would say that

TARGET AUDIENCE • Overall, from the primary and secondary research I would say that the older audience between the age of 26 to 50+ years old are more likely to be my target audience for my short film than the younger age group audiences. • The gender for my short film is looking towards the female audience than the male audience. • The type of sexual orientation that would be more interested in my short film idea is heterosexual. • The type of ethnicity races that would be more likely to watch my short film would be white people than another ethnicity races. • Demographics – B (Middle Class), C 2 (Skilled Working Class), D (Working Class) and E (Those at the Lowest Level of Subsistence. • Psychographics – Resigned/Explorers • Geodemographic – Local Devon/urban

INSPIRATION • I decided to chose a media product that I was comfortable with

INSPIRATION • I decided to chose a media product that I was comfortable with which was a short film but having a totally different story within that it, thinking about it now on where my idea came from has just blown my mind as it all started with the new marvel film Black Panther. I was impressed with the actor that played the role of Black Panther Chadwick Boseman which he bring an amazing role to the bog screen and his accent was spot. I was that amazed with his role in the film, I remember a film called 42 which he starred in as the main character and watch it again having to watch a film about a black man playing baseball with a white team and to compete with other white teams it then goes white people not being happy about the decision of a black man joining up with a white team but then gets to the end of having white people excepting him as a player not a black man. From watching that film, it got me remembering a similar concept in another film called Remember the Titans which had the same topic on having young black and white American football players join together against other white teams, not having the respect they needed to win games at the start but rear the end when they started to like each other as they knew who they were and when a car accident made one of the most important player in a wheel chair for the rest of his life made them a better team and won there high school champion chip.

KEY CONCLUSION FROM RESEARCH Practitioner Research • The story of the film Avatar which

KEY CONCLUSION FROM RESEARCH Practitioner Research • The story of the film Avatar which had an idea related to my idea. • A survey about the practitioner James Cameron, which was sent out to family and friends on Facebook. I got an idea of what type of audience like him as a filmmaker. • Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes and You. Gov to back up my results from the survey I did, understanding how critics felt about the film and the age, gender and politics that liked the film more form audience. Competition Research • I analyzed a short film produced by a ex-student, for the purpose of the transitions he made within his short film. • I just didn’t look for live action short film, I reflected on a amination and a montage that had similar ideas to what I would like to created in my short film. • Found out what type of shots that I may use in my surfing content in my short film which I received from the montage video. Target Audience Research • Learnt to trust the information from my survey and focus group than the three films I analyzed for secondary research that I received from Rotten Tomatoes and You. Gov. • Now knew what type of audience my short film is age, gender and other social categories that I have explain in the pitch blog in depth. • Reviewed on opinions from critics and audience and what differences of opinions they had from one either to the three films that I have reflected on.

KEY CONCLUSION FROM RESEARCH Legal and Ethical Issue’s Research • Found out about the

KEY CONCLUSION FROM RESEARCH Legal and Ethical Issue’s Research • Found out about the Copyright laws for the type of music I will be having in my short film. • What the policy's for uploading my short film on You. Tube and Vimeo. • Finding the basic information such as filming in public/private, cast and crew safely and the BBFC Ratings. Concepts, Ideas & Topics Research • Researching on the subject that are within my short film Paralyzed, Surfing and Mountain Biking which I analyzed through Documentary’s. • I wrote up a short brief about the concepts, ideas and topics getting to know what the subject are within my short film much better before filming. • Founded few video montages or trailers that I can look back on what storyboarding my short film, which I can uses the type of shots the filmmakers used in the surfing and mountain biking video’s

KEY CONCLUSION FROM RESEARCH Technical Requirements Research • Understand what transitions I will be

KEY CONCLUSION FROM RESEARCH Technical Requirements Research • Understand what transitions I will be doing for my short film, hopefully having no issue’s when coming to produces these transitions effects in production or post production. • I have some idea how to achieve these transitions even though some were created in a different environment than the real shots will be. • Learnt that these shots will not be so difficult that I originally thought about the begin of developing my idea for the Proposal task. Cost/Budget/Production Issue’s Research • I have a rough idea on how much to save for my budget for this short film. • Researched how much it would cost for to produce a short film with a bigger budget such as in the film industry. • I also learnt about the production issue’s I may face, such as actor being ill, equipment failure, permission and not enough crew to produce any scene’s.
