As measures of distortion, THD and IMD do not take into account masking effects of the human ear. y They are purely mathematical relationships between the input and the output of a system. y As such, there really is no reason to believe that they should indicate the perception of the system nonlinearity which they represent. 2 Acoustic Science www.
