Main Idea • In THIS CHAPTER IT MAINLY TALKS about Johnny and people visiting him at the hospital. That is not all though. There is more to it. We will be talking about different important parts of the chapter. So lets get started!

Introduction • In this page which is the beginning all it talks about is Two-bit and Ponyboy trying to visit Johnny and the nurse does not let them because she said he is in a critical condition. Unfortunately the truth is because they are not family. Even though the nurse said that, they still insisted and at last they got to visit him.

The Paper • When Johnny was in the hospital, Tim Shepard came to give him some news and unfortunately they sounded pretty bad. • Tim Shepard told Johnny that he saw a picture of Johnny on a paper saying “WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE. ”

Dally • In chapter 8, along with everything else going on something happens to Dally. • Tim Shepard does it and when I read it sounded hurtful • Tim Shepard cracked Dally’s ribs even though they were close buddies.

The Book • While Two-bit and Ponyboy visit Johnny at the hospital, Johnny asks Two-Bit to get him a book. The book Johnny asks for is called “Gone With The Wind” • So Two-bit goes and finds that book. • Johnny did not just ask for the book, but also for grease.

The visitor • During the book, a person comes to visit and that person is the “MOM”. • When she comes to visit apparently Johnny does not want to see her. • That is pretty weird cause usually when you are at the hospital the first person you want to see is your family.

Realizing • In chapter 8, Johnny realizes he does not want to die. Now what makes him truly realize that. Well the answer is the fire, not saving the kids or the fact he is going to die. Even though Johnny says he does not want to die because it isn't long enough, only sixteen years.

Cherry • Going on with chapter 8, cherry does not want to visit Johnny. She doesn’t because she is a Soc and she is different so she doesn’t feel like she belongs.

Family • The Gang realizes something in chapter 8, he like misses Johnny because he is part of the group, to the gang he is like family, and knowing that a family member is in the hospital is sad.
