Chapter 12 • Falling action and denouement: All the loose ends are tied up • Ponyboy is really sick following all the events in the climax of the story • He has been having difficulty accepting the loss of Johnny and Dally giving up on life • He has to go to court and is afraid he won’t get to stay with his brothers • His school work has suffered as a result
