The Onceler asks the boy to give him
The Once-ler asks the boy to give him 15 cents, an old rusted nail and the shell of a great grandfather snail to hear the story of the Lorax.
The Lorax is written and illustrated by Dr. Seuss. It is a speculative fiction, and novel in verse picture book.
Everyone was happy in the world of Truffula trees in Thneedville
Then the Once-ler arrived….
The Once-ler began chopping down Truffula trees to knit Thneeds in his Thneed factory.
A Thneed is a sweater made from the tufts of the Truffula trees.
The Lorax, who speaks for the trees, appears and is upset that the Onceler is chopping down the Truffula trees, and tells him to stop.
The Once-ler doesn’t listen and keeps chopping down the Truffula trees.
The Lorax is unhappy
The Lorax continues to complain. Explaining that all the animals will have to leave if the Once-ler keeps cutting down trees.
Almost all the trees are gone along with the animals.
Once all the trees are gone and the Once-ler shuts down his factory and everyone leaves.
The Lorax feels defeated and disappears into the clouds.
The boy comes across the place the Lorax left from, and wonders what the message could mean when suddenly…. .
