The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that since 1966 has taken place on the streets of Notting Hill, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London, United Kingdom each August over three days. The Notting hill Carnival was organized as a way of reconciliation and rapprochement of people of different nationalities and cultures.

Every year in August the streets of West London come alive, with the sounds and smells of Europe’s biggest street festival. Twenty miles of vibrant colourful costumes surround over 40 static sound systems, hundreds of Caribbean food stalls over 40, 000 volunteers and over 1 million Notting Hill carnival revelers.

At the carnival Notting Hill there is a direction for children, a costume contest and a real procession. In the adult carnival lots of music and dancing.

The most interesting begins on the last day of carnival is Adults Day. The festival is beginning to take a stronger atmosphere of celebration and fun.

The festival focused on four thematic areas: the masquerade, drums, calypso and SOCA. The Notting hill Carnival attracts many people, tourists and citizens clog the streets.

Moving around during carnival processions is very difficult to find a normal place to view the parade is impossible. Come in advance, checking with the actual card movement of the carnival procession, find a good spot and whatever happens — do not leave this place.

A good option is inviting you to a balcony in one of the houses along the path of movement of the carnival. If a few pounds for you is not critical, try to get someone on the balcony.
