What is it? • The government system of support for victims of modern slavery

What is it? • The government system of support for victims of modern slavery • Commonly called the ‘NRM’ • It includes accommodation in a safehouse – Provided by the Salvation Army

How does the NRM work? 1. Potential Victim identified by First Responder 2. They

How does the NRM work? 1. Potential Victim identified by First Responder 2. They are asked if they would like to be referred to the NRM i. If they are over 18, they must give consent* 3. If they give consent, then the First Responder fills in an NRM form 4. The NRM form is then sent to the Competent Authority 5. They have five days to decide if there is ‘reasonable grounds’ to the claim of trafficking 6. If there is, then the Potential Victim will enter the NRM *Children (anyone under 18) do not need to consent
