THE MYSTERY OF THE KEYS TO THE KOG

Matthew 16: 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. ”

WHAT ARE THE KEYS FOR? FOR AUTHORITY To bind on earth what is bound in heaven, and to loose on earth what is loosed in heaven

Only after having taught the kingdom parables, Jesus put the keys to the kingdom into the disciples’ hands.

The KEYS were given ONLY after the disciples had UNDERSTOOD THE PARABLES OF THE KINGDOM

In order to understand the KEYS, they had to understand the KINGDOM

“THE KINGDOM” BY CHRIST 36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place. “ (John 18: 36)

“CHRIST’S MISSION” BY CHRIST But he said, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent. “ (Luke 4: 43) 43

THE DISCIPLES’ MISSION 2 and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9: 2 )

THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD WERE GIVEN TO THE CHURCH

How did it happen? 43"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. Mat. 21: 43

The keys NOWHERE ELSE IN THE BIBLE WE READ ABOUT THE KEYS TO THE KOG. BUT JESUS OFFERED MANY CLUES ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE AND WHO WILL GET THEM.

More than one key Note that the keys are in the plural: more than one. Since they are kingdom keys, they would of necessity give the user access into the kingdom realm. If we can now understand what the kingdom is we will know more about these keys.

KEYS TO THE KINGDOM REALM • By nature, we belong to the realm of the fallen creation. • Only men and women redeemed by Christ who has the Spirit of God are able to cross over into the kingdom realm. This is why it is necessary for the natural man to be born again before he can see or enter the kingdom of God. John 3: 3 -5. • These keys of the kingdom are the means given to the church whereby it is able to do just that. Use of these keys enables the church to perform the work of the kingdom.

The key of Knowledge • It is important that we know how these keys are to be restored. • In Luke 11: 52, Jesus accused the scribes of having taken away the key of knowledge. • 52"Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering. "

The key of Knowledge • Through their traditions and vain interpretations of the law they had made the Word of God of none effect. Mark 7: 13. • 3 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that. "

The key of Knowledge • The Lord said to Hosea, "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: since you have forgotten the law of God, I will also forget your children. " Hosea 4: 6. • By substitution of religious tradition for the Word of God, the scribes and Pharisees had taken away the key of knowledge through which men could enter the kingdom of God. The key of knowledge certainly would be one of the great keys of the kingdom. • Because the preachers in Hosea's day had rejected the true knowledge of the Lord, God's people were destroyed.

The Restoration of the keys • The restoration of the keys of the kingdom is coming to us by the revelation of Jesus Christ. • It is simply the Lord opening the book to the apostolic truth lost to the church because of vain traditions of men. • This is how the keys of the kingdom are being restored.

The Restoration of the keys • These keys are vital to the restoration of the church. It is through the use of these keys that the church will be perfected. The body cannot be perfected and empowered apart from the use of the keys of the kingdom. • Without the full use of these keys the church is limited in what it is able to do. Full and complete operation of the keys means power to loose and bind on earth. Full use of the keys means complete restoration of the power and authority of the church.

The Restoration of the keys • All of these keys are necessary to establish God's kingdom in the hearts of men. Each key enables us to enter into and enjoy some aspect of the kingdom. • Like keys that open doors to the many rooms of some king's castle, the keys of the kingdom are necessary to gain an entrance into the various realms of God's kingdom.

The Restoration of the keys • Each key opens the door to some vital and necessary place in God's kingdom. • Use of these keys by the church is necessary to introduce others to the king (Jesus) and his kingdom. • Use of the keys of the kingdom is also necessary to open the prison doors of unbelief and set the captives free. • Needless to say, it is the use of the keys of the kingdom that enables us to take authority over Satan and his dark kingdom. • It is the church using the keys of the kingdom that the gates of hell cannot prevail against.

The Restoration of the keys • These keys are basic Bible principles that must be believed and practiced if we want to get results. • There is no substitute or shortcut. Only true disciples (learners, followers) of Jesus Christ will ever know and use the keys of the kingdom.

Who gets the KEYS to the KOG?

1. THE BORN AGAIN • 3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. " John 3: 3

2. THE WISE STUDENT • 52 He said to them, "Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old. “ • The teacher of the law, a Jew, was expected to have the knowledge about the old teachings of the scriptures and recognize Christ and the new things He was teaching: a key here is to recognize that Jesus is the Son of God prophesied by the Mat. 13: 52 Old Testament prophets.

2. THE WISE STUDENT • 13"Woe to you, teachers of the Mat. 23: 13 law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

3. THE FORCEFUL MAN • 16"The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it. Luke 16: 16

3. THE FORCEFUL MAN 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. Mat. 11: 12

4. THE CHILDLIKE MAN • 3 And he said: "I tell you the • Mat. 18: 3 -4 truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5. THE POOR IN THE WORLD 5 Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? Mat. 19: 14

5. THE POOR IN THE WORLD 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, Mat. 19: 23 "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. "

THE BELIEVERS Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him. Mat. 21: 32

7. THE SERVANTS 25 Jesus said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26 But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. 27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. 28 You are those who have stood by me in my trials. 29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, 30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Lk. 22: 25 -30

8. THE FAITHFUL 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God, " they said Acts 14: 22

9. THE SANCTIFIED 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Co. 6: 9 -10

9. THE SANCTIFIED 50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 1 Co. 15: 50

THE SANCTIFIED 19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal. 5: 19 -22

THE FRUITFUL 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, Col. 1: 10 -13

TH 0 SE WHO PERSEVERE 4 Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. 5 All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. 6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. 2 Thes. 1: 4 -7

THE OBEDIENT 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. 2 Thes. 1: 8 -10

13. THE COMMITTED 10 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Pe. 1: 10 -12

KINGDOM REWARDS 29"I tell you the truth, " Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life. " Lk. 18: 29 -30

KINGDOM REWARDS 6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. " Rev. 20: 6

KINGDOM REWARDS To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. Rev. 1: 6

KEY QUESTIONS ARE YOU BORN AGAIN? ARE YOU A WISE STUDENT OF THE SCRIPTURES? ARE YOU FORCEFULLY LAYING HOLD OF IT? ARE YOU RECEIVING THE KOG LIKE A CHILD? ARE YOU POOR IN THE EYES OF THE WOLRD? DO YOU BELIEVE CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD AND KING? ARE YOU A SERVANT? ARE YOU FAITHFUL EVEN THROUGH HARDSHIPS? ARE YOU SANCTIFYING YOUR LIFE IN VIEW OF THE KOG? ARE YOU GIVING FRUITS TO THE KOG? ARE YOU PERSEVERING IN THE FAITH? DO YOU OBEY THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST? ARE YOU COMMITTED TO YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION?
