SIZE OF THE MOON COMPARED TO EARTH GROUP PREDICTION • Roll Play-Doh into a solid ball. • Divided the ball in half. • Take one half to make 2 spheres which estimate the size of the earth and the moon. • Place these on a sheet of paper and mark EARTH and MOON (also place these the distance that your believe they are away from one another) • Keep these here, this is your prediction.

ACTUAL SIZE OF THE MOON 1. Take the other half of the Play-Doh, roll it out into a hot-dog 2. Cut this into 5 equal pieces 3. Cut each of the pieces into 10 equal pieces 4. Now, you should have 50 approximately equal sizes pieces 5. Choose 1 of the 50 that represent an average sized piece • This represents the moon 6. Roll the remaining 49 pieces together • This represents the Earth
