THE MOODLE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

THE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (MOODLE) • • • The Learning Management System (LMS) is an online platform that provides students with various activities such as learning materials, homework, forums and exams, and feedback for the activities they have completed. Students have the opportunity to access course materials and other activities anywhere and at any time with the LMS. Students can communicate with their teachers through the LMS. Arel LMS is a platform that provides students with activities such as resources, exams and homework related to the courses they take via distance education. The LMS is different from the student automation system as it is a structure in which students can carry out learning activities.

LOGGINING INTO THE EDUCATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM You can log into the LMS via https: //uzem. arel. edu. tr/ using your Student Information System (SIS) username and password. Username: SIS username Password: SIS password Note: If you are having problems logining in, contact burakdogan@arel. edu. tr for support.

THE INTERFACE OF THE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM When you log into the system, you will be directed to a screen like the one given below. Here, you will be able to see the auxiliary menus, announcements, event calendar, profile information and, your current, past and future courses. To access your course materials and similar course activities, click on the relevant course in the My Courses (Derslerim) section.

SENDING MESSAGES THROUGH THE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM You can write messages to your lecturers and, read and reply to incoming messages by clicking on the Messages icon. After you click the icon, the window shown on the right will appear. You can write messages by clicking on the Compose (E-posta yaz) button.

After clicking on the Compose button, the screen given below will appear. Here, select the course you wish to send an e-mail about and click on the Continue (Devam) button. Select the recipients here. Type your message here.

COURSE SCREEN When you click on a course, the content of the course will be displayed as shown in the image below.

SHARING HOMEWORK 1 Click on the Homework (Ödev) button, as shown in the image, to submit homework to the HOMEWORK fields created by lecturers. 2 Upload your homework to the system by clicking on the Attach files (Gönderim ekle) button located on the right.

Drag and drop the files you wish to upload into the area specified below or click on the blue arrow. You must stay on this page until the files you have selected have been completely uploaded. HOMEWORK SHARING After the files have been uploaded, complete the sending process by clicking on the Save Changes (Değişiklikleri kaydet) button as shown in the image above.

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) 1 Click on the link shown on the left to join a live lesson. After clicking the link, a screen similar to the one given on the right will appear. Click on the Join Meeting (Toplantıya Katıl) button on the screen to join the live lesson (virtual classroom).

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) When you click on the Join Meeting (Toplantıya katıl) button to join the lesson, the page given below will appear. First, click on the Allow (İzin ver) button. Next, click on the Login (giriş yap) button to be directed to the virtual classroom screen.

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) After clicking on the Login (giriş yap) button you will be greeted with the screen below. The Adobe Connect application is used to join virtual classrooms (live lessons). If this application is installed on your computer, you will be able to join automatically. If you do not have the Adobe Connect application on your computer, you can download it by clicking on the download and run the application (uygulamayı indirip çalıştırın) button. If you wish, you can connect to the course from your browser by clicking on the Continue with browser (Tarayıcıda devam edin) button. It is recommended that you connect to the live lessons using the application.

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) After you join a live lesson using the Adobe Connect application, you will be greeted with the page shown below.

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) The symbols given below will be activated when the lecturer authorizes students to turn on their audio and video during live lessons. With these symbols, students can share their audio and video during live lessons. Turns on the microphone. Turns on the camera. When students receive authorization and share their audio and video, the images of the lecturer and student will be displayed as shown below.

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) If the lecturer authorizes students to share their screen or documents during a live lesson, the sharing options given below will appear on the students’ screens. Click to share your computer screen with the virtual classroom. Click to share files (presentations, Word documents, PDFs) during a live lesson. Click to share a whiteboard (drawing screen) during a live lesson.

SCREEN SHARING IN VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS To share your screen during a live lesson, click on the Screen (Ekran) button as shown in the image below. In the window that appears, click on the Share (Paylaş) button of the desktop screen you wish to share.

SCREEN SHARING IN VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS SANAL SINIFTA EKRAN PAYLAŞIMI If you only want to share an application, after clicking the Share My Screen (Ekranımı paylaş) button click the Applications (Uygulamalar) button as shown below, to select the application you wish to share.

SHARINGSANAL DOCUMENTS SINIFTA IN BELGE VIRTUAL PAYLAŞIMI CLASSROOMS You can drag and drop Powerpoint, PDF, video (MP 4), audio (MP 3), image (JPG, PNG) files to the document sharing area in a virtual classroom. Or you can share the file by clicking on the Document (Belge) button.

JOINING VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS (LIVE LESSONS) 1 Click on the live lesson link, as you previously did to join a virtual classroom. 2 To rewatch a live lesson, simply click on the link in the Recordings (Kayıtlar) section.

EXAMS 1 2 Click on the exam (sınav) created by the lecturer. After you click on the exam screen will be displayed. Here, click on the Begin Exam Now (Sınavı şimdi uygula) button as shown above to begin the exam.

EXAMS Skip to any question from here. When the exam begins the questions will appear as shown below. Select your answer and click on the Next Page (Sonraki sayfa) button at the bottom right to go to the next question. Click on the Finish the Application (Uygulamayı bitir) button to complete the exam.

EXAMS After you click on the Finish the Application (Uygulamayı bitir) button, a screen summarising your exam will be displayed. Click on the Send All and Finish (Tümünü gönder ve bitir) button to complete the exam. Complete the exam by clicking on the Send All and Finish (Tümünü gönder ve bitir) button.
