Implications • Decision making. • Slow down – huddle, read in meetings, team decisions…. • Vicarious Trauma standards. • For organisation not just the investigators and front line staff • Trauma informed workplace standards. • How is my agency traumatising me – 2+2= ? or 17*24=? • Culture shift through leadership by modelling. • Don’t send e-mails at 3 a. m. if you’re the boss. Just don’t.
Conclusion • Organisations mirror the context • System 1 thinking is the default and mirrors trauma thinking leading to fast but strategically inept decision making. • System 2 thinking is required and mirrors mindful thinking leading to less defensive and more strategic decision making. • Questions, Discussion
