The Lord Reigns! • God is sovereign – one who possess supreme authority • Many kings have claimed sovereign rule – with flaws • God IS supreme! Jer. 32: 17, 27; Job. 42: 2, Isa. 46: 910 Rom. 11: 33

The Lord Reigns! • Clothed with majesty • A word meaning to rise up (like some) – exalted, triumphant. • Psa. 89: 9 • He IS majestic!

The Lord Reigns! • Girded with strength • A garment that one wears to facilitate better movement. • cf. Eph. 6: 14 • He is all-powerful – Gen. 17: 1, Rev. 21: 22 - almighty

The Lord Reigns! • The world is established • He spoke it into existence – 2 Pet. 3: 5 -7 • Demonstrates His power – Rom. 1: 20, Psa. 33: 6 -9

Everlasting Throne • He is reigning in heaven Dan. 4: 34 -35 • Established of old – Psa. 45: 6, cf. Eph. 3: 10 -11 • From everlasting – Psa. 90: 2, 145: 13 • God is the answer to the enigma of eternity

Mightier than waters • Water has always been important in God’s plan – The flood – The Red sea and Jordan – Priests washing to purify – Jesus’ many miracles – Baptism (1 Pet. 3: 20 -21)

Mightier than waters • Water also important to life • Waters demonstrate power • Often descriptive of nations Isa. 17: 12 -13, Jer. 46: 7 -8, also Rev. 19: 6 This is the best fit in our text
