You are a peasant in ancient Egypt named Menes. A peasant is the lowest class on the social pyramid. Women typically were housewives and men were farmers, builders, or laborers. Have fun on your adventure! Click anywhere to continue Start Over
You chose farming season! Farming season is the season when it is best to grow your crops. The Nile River floods right before farming season which makes the ground perfect! During that season, your family and you grow great crops. After the crops grow, you give them to the pharaoh in a form of taxes. Which choice do you choose? There is a flood OR You plant wheat Start Over
It is off season! In off season, off season is when the land is flooded or too wet to plant, peasants would build pyramids (pyramids are large triangular buildings). The pyramids are where the pharaohs (pharaohs were at the top of the social pyramid) are buried in a sarcophagus (a sarcophagus is a tomb where pharaohs were buried). The river over flooded! (a flood is when a river overflows more than it is supposed to) When this happens you usually don't have enough taxes to pay the Government Officials. You choose to plant wheat, a crop which was common in ancient Egypt for it's source of food or payment taxes. Next would you like to make bread from the wheat or use it to pay taxes. Do you Make bread Or Pay taxes Start Over
You are a pyramid builder in ancient Egypt. A pyramid is a tall sand-made structure with four sides. Next, you hear that something tragic has happed at your house. You choose to be a house wife (a house wife would take care off the kids or make dinner). Last night your pot broke so you went to town to buy a pot from an artisan so you can make dinner. You Can Click to add text Make dinner Take care of the kids Start Over

The ground is perfect for planting! In Ancient Egypt the a flood was usually good before farming season. The flooding this season was great! There will probably be a great farming ahead! You Can Grow a lot of food and give it as taxes Or Have a feast with your family Start Over
You choose to give wheat to the Pharaoh for taxes. During Ancient Egypt peasants would give there crops as payment for taxes. Next would you like to choose the pharaoh is happy or you still have to pay off taxes. Happy pharaoh OR Not enough Start Over

You built the pyramids well and please the pharaoh. You heard that nothing actually happened at your home. He gives you the choice to have lower taxes (taxes are when the scribes come round to collect crops for the pharaoh) or he will give you nice tools. You Can Lower Taxes OR Nice Tools Start Over
You run home to see what happened. When you get home, you realize that nothing happened. It was a false alarm. You hear the pharaoh is very mad. Do you go back and face the consequence or run away? Face the Blame OR Apologize to the pharaoh Start Over
You chose to make dinner. The kids want to eat bread (bread was a common food source in ancient Egypt). You Can Eat bread Give your bread to the pharaoh Start Over
You decide to take care of the kids. They went to a friends house to play a board game( a board game in Ancient Egypt would be like Shoots and Ladders or Risk). You Can Take the kids home and let them sleep Or Take them home and have them work in the garden Start Over
You get punished! In ancient Egypt if you didn't pay your taxes it would be common to be beaten by the monarch. A monarch is another name for leader or pharaoh. You get badly hurt. You are now very sad. See your fate here Start Over
You don't grow a lot! In ancient Egypt the crops didn't always grow perfectly. This year the crops hardly grew. When this happens you cant pay your taxes. Click here to see your fate Start Over
You give your all your crops as taxes. Now you go into famine and don't live much longer. You know that your life is short. Then all of a sudden, one of your peasant friends grow extra and gives you food and you can eat and work harder. You have a mini-feast with your family! Today you want to celebrate a good harvest. At the feast you eat bread and fish, you are no longer hunger and exhausted. You and your family are happy. See what happens next Start Over

You choose to make your bread wrong. This probably wasn’t uncommon in Ancient Egypt for peasants because they were usually the poorest and did not usually have the proper cooking tools. Click here to see your fate. Start Over
You choose to make bread, but give it to a friend of yours who is a artisan. An artisan in Ancient Egypt usually made pieces of art or things people could use in everyday life. Artisans made their living from selling there art pieces. Click to see your fate Start Over
You now get a lot less crops off of your taxes. Now, when the scribes come around to collect your crops, you give a lot less crops! A scribe is a designated person who has been taught to write. See Your Fate Start Over
The Pharaoh gives you very nice tools for farming. You are very cheerful because you know you will have plenty of crops. See Your Fate Start Over
The Pharaoh is displeased and decides that you should be beaten. A beating is a punishment where the victim is hit repeatedly. See Your Fate Start Over
You get a second chance! You are very happy because the Pharaoh has spared you. See Your Fate Start Over
You chose to put your children to bed, they are very tired and don’t argue. See your fate Start Over
You chose to have them work in the garden. They water the crops and plant new seeds. See your fate Start Over
You chose to have bread for dinner and no one complained. See your fate Start Over
You chose to give your bread to the Pharaoh and your kids want fish, they don’t want bread. See your fate Start Over

Now, you go into famine because you gave all of your food to the Pharaoh so you dot get in trouble again. You have to eat boiled papyrus. All of your family starves and you survive. You get rewarded! In Ancient Egypt it was rare to be rewarded as a peasant. Because of that you have enough money to attend Scribe school. Now, you become a very healthy and a richer Egyptian! Congratulations! Start Over
You chose to have a mini feast because you had a great growing season. You have never had such a big feast! All of your family enjoys the feast, tells jokes, and laughs. All of you are very cheerful and get a great good night's rest! The next morning your family is energized and gets right to work. You tried to pay your taxes to the Pharaoh, but it wasn't enough. Taxes are a payment to the Pharaoh but in the form of food. Because you couldn't pay your taxes, you loose your land are now a slave. Your whole family gets separated to different houses. As a slave you disobey your owner and get beaten plus you sadly die because the way you disrespected your owner was very wrong. You choose to get sick. Now you are sick and unable to look after the farm! You miss the farming season and you can't pay your taxes. Now, you get beaten but you survive and now hope for a better season next year. Start Over
You made bread for your family to eat, then had extra. So, you gave it to your artisan friend. They were very grateful and thought it was delicious! Your friend decided to repay you by giving you a masterpiece sculpture. Now, both of you are very, very thankful and become even closer friends! You chose for your children to overwater the plants. In the puddles of water, one child slips and breaks their arm on the stone. Your child with the broken arm is too injured to work. At this time, you loose a lot of food since there is not enough harvested. Your family starves, but after a while, you and your family recover from eating boiled papyrus. One of your children chokes and dies so you go to the desert to preserve the body. (to preserve the body peasants would go into the desert to dry out and keep the body intact). Start Over

Your children and husband dies and you are the only one to survive! You are now very lonely, but decide to marry some else. After the marriage you live a happy live and never give too much food to the Pharaoh. Start over
