Dorset and East Devon Coast inscribed on World Heritage list December 13 th 2001, Helsinki Bid led by Dorset and Devon County Councils, and the Dorset Coast Forum – a strong and lasting legacy of Forum work
What makes the concept of World Heritage exceptional is its universal application. World Heritage sites belong to all the peoples of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located.

Our Mission Our mission is to enable everyone to have the best possible experience of England’s natural World Heritage Site, whether they want to learn, enjoy, work or study
Aims To protect the Jurassic Coast and its setting To engage with people and organisations To deepen our understanding of, and people’s connections with the Jurassic Coast To sustain the organisation financially and demonstrate exemplary governance
For now and for future generations A strong Jurassic Coast identity and a strong Jurassic Coast Trust can only be good news for the environment and the visitor centres, museums, businesses, community groups, residents and visitors for whom the Jurassic Coast is important
