Understanding our customer § Our customer is multi-faceted and driven not only by a need but by a desire for the latest technology. § Many of our users ideas evolve out of their everyday exposure to what is available to them commercially. § Our customer is driven by a need to innovate using limited funds while maximizing capabilities. § The majority of customers do not want to be the “guinea pigs” of technology, but rather adopt a technology that works “right out of the box”. 3/10/2021 1

What is the role of the CTO § The role of the IT CTO is to foster the investigation, review and potential adoption of innovative and disruptive technology. § It is essential that the IT CTO’s not only look at technology from a innovative perspective, but also from the perspective of the average user. § For the IT CTO’s to sustain innovation it will require us to examine current solutions (many of them retail based) that may morph into an alternate result with enhanced value to the business. We anticipate that this ITF will provide a way to capture IT-related ideas that are outside the immediate purview of the CIO. The New IT Role § The IT CTO’s must involve and listen closely to their user community if we are to develop value added capabilities. § The IT CTO’s must combine the disruptive with the innovative to create a manageable as well as serviceable environment. § The IT CTO’s must integrate with the Center CTO’s to ensure that we are tied in with the Missions, Program and Project’s needs. § We must continually investigate, innovate and integrate technology to meet our customer’s needs. 3/10/2021 4
