The INP program was established in 2010 through a joint venture between CCA and CU Anschutz Medical Campus to: Meet the growing demand for bachelor’s-prepared nurses Provide community college students with the option of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing and being successful in this pursuit Graduate nurses who will reflect the population they will be serving

Program Design Prepare students through completion of 9 classes of intensive coursework Based on a cohort model – you stay together throughout the program Dual advising – two for the price of one! Support services in place for success
Program Design Eight semesters from the start to the end of program Student receives an Associates of General Studies (AGS) Degree from CCA. 60 credits are transferred to CU; after six semesters, student receives BS in Nursing
What does “Cohort” mean? “Cohort” refers to a united group of people The benefits of being in a cohort: Improved academic performance Exposure to diverse ideas Ability to work with a variety of personalities Experience working on teams
Program Exclusions The following are excluded from the program: LPN RN Registered Psychiatric Technician Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Students in these categories are encouraged to apply to other programs). Not Excluded: CNA, MAs, prior AA, AS, AAS degree Suggested you have prior medical experience

TRi. O Student Support Services A program to support students in achieving their academic goals; participation is limited Must be U. S. citizen or permanent resident Students eligible for TRi. O must meet one of the following: If you can answer “yes” to at least 2 of the following, please consider putting in an application: Are you enrolled in an Associate degree or certificate program at CCA? Do you have a need for academic support to successfully complete a degree/certificate at CCA or transfer to a four-year school? Do you consider yourself to be low income? Application Process Applications are accepted online through Nursing. CAS. org Open January 1 – March 31 (Best to start the process when the application opens) Must be finished with prerequisite classes by end of the spring semester in which applying. You will request a 2 nd official transcript be sent to Nursing. CAS after grades post. You will access the application multiple times
Application Requirements 3. 0 for all prerequisites – suggested overall GPA of 3. 0 for all classes taken. C or better in all prerequisites. When calculating the overall GPA, Nursing. CAS does not honor repeat delete or grade forgiveness policies. Only the highest documented course attempts are used for the prerequisite GPA. The closer you have to a 4. 0 the better. Good grades in science classes Two letters of recommendation – one must be academic – An e-mail request will be sent to the referrer on your behalf from Nursing. CAS

Application Process Criminal Background Check and Academic Disclosures must be made New applicants will be subject to a criminal background check and consent in their applications to the criminal background investigation, as a condition of submitting such applications. The practice of nursing deals with vulnerable populations and, as such, there may be a criminal history within the background of the applicant that could have a significant impact on the ability to safely care for and interact with patients/clients Drug Testing A drug test is required to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. In addition, student drug tests are mandatory to meet accreditation standards, licensure issues, contractual obligations, and liability issues. What if I need to work? Working in the program is an individual decision, but students must understand how it might impact their ability to succeed. If a student works, it is hoped that they: considers the program their full-time job are able to decrease hours if work is affecting his or her grades has an adaptable and flexible schedule has a supportive supervisor can be available 24/7 at CU
Estimated Cost of Program CCA resident tuition is $215. 34 with COF/cr. hr. 63 credit hours = $13, 566. 43 CU Anschutz Medical Campus in-state tuition is $437. 00 with COF/cr. hr. (tuition increases each year) 68 credit hours = $29, 716 TOTAL: $43, 282. 43 tuition only, does not include books, fees, required equipment, etc. *(updated 8/28/18) Tuition prices go up every year in July
