HTA in Poland Ø the creation of Polish HTA agency (in operation from 2006) Ø based on international experience Ø project Poland Mo. H/AOTM– France Mo. H/HAS Ø (fully) implemented for pharmaceuticals but not for non-drug technologies Ø embeded in the legal framework in Poland (the Act of Law) Ø HTA is part of the decision making proces at central level for pharmaceuticals Ø HB-HTA project inspired by Ad. Hop. HTA 2

The objective: the implementation of HB-HTA Ø The creation of: Ø Pilot HB-HTA units at hospital level, Ø Supporting HB-HTA network, Ø The increase of effectiveness of health care system management Ø Through the provision of Ø Systematic and transparent assessment of innovative (non-drug) health technologies Ø Both at local/hospital level (hospital management) Ø And at central/country level (public payer), Ø To all stakeholders Ø Mainly via piloting programes. 3
