Education Support EVERY STUDENT REACH R elationships Education Accountability Character Hard Work The REACH Program is a voluntary in school program designed to assist our students who may need support academically, socially, and/or emotionally. REACH believes in the ability of every student to overcome academic and personal obstacles to achieve success. Each student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, while being sensitive to individual needs. Without this guidance, many students would not graduate from High School. Gifted & Talented Programs The Gifted Services for Talent Development Program of Austin Public Schools will work in cooperation with staff, family and community to create an environment designed to assist individuals in achieving their maximum potential through modifications in their educational program. Education Support EVERY STUDENT Horatio Alger Scholarships One of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarship recipients must exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited nonprofit public or private institution in the United States. Students may start their studies at a two year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution. The recipient must also demonstrate critical financial need ($55, 000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required for the 2016 -2017 school year). Austin Public Schools Technology The funds from this grant will enable Austin Public Schools to continue to improve technology for our students. Specifically, these funds will allow us to replace obsolete computers in various labs and classrooms throughout the district, which allows us to continue to provide hands on/direct technology experiences to the students attending Austin Public Schools. In addition this funding directly impacts 2, 850 students that take part in our 1: 1 device initiative providing a laptop to every student in grades 5 -12 which greatly differentiates the quality of instruction we are able to provide our students. © Copyright 2016 The Hormel Foundation
