THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES AT PENTECOST Who is the Holy Spirit? What actually happened on the day of Pentecost? How does the Holy Spirit empower us? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT? Part of the Trinity: God the Father; God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, no less important than the Father and the Son, and just as essential. HOW DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT INTERACT WITH US? Convicts us of sin – brings to mind those things we have thought, said and done wrong. Fills us – after belief in Jesus Christ as our own personal saviour and lord – being baptised in the Spirit. Empowers us – more of that later.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST? The Holy Spirit came upon the disciples and infused them with power. It was a physical - audible (sound like a rushing wind) and visual (tongues of fire) HOW WERE THE DISCIPLES AFFECTED BY THIS? The disciples became bold in their faith They could speak in different languages They obviously had power and authority and this caused a reaction in the people.
