Our Brownie Leaders always encourage us to strive for the Chief Commissioner Badge, the highest ward conferred to a Brownie. They put in a lot of effort in guiding us in the process of working for the badge. Our Brownies have been working for the Chief Commissioner’s Badge Test since 1994.

Our Pride We are proud of Joyce Ong, who was the youngest Brownie to go for the Chief Commissioner’s Badge test when whe was in Primary 3 in 1994. Till now, nobody had broken records. Joyce was the youngest Chief Commissioner Badge Awardee since 1995

Our Pioneer Shirley Ong A banker Age : 27 When did you join Brownies? In 1989 Primary 4 What was your highest award when you left Brownies? The Golden Hand. During our time, there’s no Chief Commissioner Badge Test. Did you enjoy your years as a Brownie? Why? Yes. I had the chance to learn to play and develop lots of important life skills like communication and leadership skills. What was your most memorable experience as a Brownie? The Camp Challenge at Camp Christine. It brought out my leadership potential. Did you continue with guiding? Why? Yes! I like being a brownie. What inspired you to continue guiding? The fun, the activities and perhaps the passion in guiding. Would you continue to support guiding? How? Yes. To spread the good will of guiding. Do you apply any skills from brownies to your daily or work life? How/What? Yes. Lending a hand being cheerful always. Do you have any advice or tips for us? Enjoy your Brownie days. Appreciate the learning opportunities that you have.

Why? Yes. A lot of fun experiences. What was your most memorable experience as a Brownie? Being the youngest Chief Commissioner’s Badge brownie. Did you continue with guiding? Why? Yes! I had a interesting brownie experience. What inspired you to continue guiding? To continue with ‘Brownie’. Would you continue to support guiding? How? Yes. I came back to Holy Innocents’ Primary school to help with activities. I also want other Brownies to experience the ‘Great Experience’ I had gone through. Do you apply any skills from brownies to your daily or work life? How/What? Yes, definitely. First, by applying the good valves to my daily life. Secondly, the hands-on work experiences as a brownie can be applied to every aspects of life. Do you have any advice or tips for us? Participate in as many activities as you can as not all guiders are as active as Ms Kwek.

What inspired you to continue guiding? To make more friends and to learn more skills. Would you continue to support guiding? How? Yes. Help Ms Kwek whenever she needs me. Do you apply any skills from brownies to your daily or work life? How/What? Yes. Interpersonal relationships, social etiquette, outdoor survival skills, household chores and self -discipline. Do you have any advice or tips for us? Keep your guiding light burning bright. The skills you picked up will benefit you for a lifetime. The memories you can will be the best chapter in the story of your life.

The Chief Commissioner’s Badge Did you enjoy your years as a Brownie? Why? Yes, it was very fun and enriching. Very all-rounded and can get to learn a lot of new and fun stuff! What was your most memorable experience as a Brownie? Days when we work for the Chief Commissioner Badge Test, the KL trip and the Camp Challenge. What inspired you to continue guiding? All the fun activities and the stuff we’ll get to learn. Would you continue to support guiding? How? Yes! Join the YA and go back to help in school and continue helping out with activities. Do you apply any skills from brownies to your daily or work life? How/What? Yes. Leadership skills. Independence and lots more. Do you have any advice or tips for us? Try out new things/activities including outdoor. Participate in more events : like the International camp. When there’s a will, there’s a way.

The Chief Commissioner’s Badge Did you enjoy your years as a Brownie? Why? Yes. With a wonderful Brownie Leader like Ms Kwek and enjoyable and enriching brownies’ sessions. What was your most memorable experience as a Brownie? Days when we had to prepare for the Camp Challenge 2000 and our International Camp in Malaysia 2000 and of course, when working towards the Chief Com. Badge! What inspired you to continue guiding? Brownie Leader, seniors and juniors, the outdoor activities, camps, etc. Would you continue to support guiding? How? Definitely. Being a young adult when I enter JC. To keep the guiding light burning always in young (primary) and old (secondary) hearts. Do you have any advice or tips for us? Never say die! No matter how impossible a task can get. Always believe in yourself and prove that you can do it to everyone around you! Enjoy the brownies’ sessions while you still can! Guiding is quite different.
