Epidemiologic Profile: The purpose of this chapter is to present the epidemiology of HIV and AIDS in San Francisco. This chapter will focus on data from San Francisco, but will be developed based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Health resource Service Administration (HRSA) “Integrated Guidelines for Developing Epidemiologic Profiles: HIV Prevention and Ryan White CARE Act Community Planning. ” In January 2009, Harder & Company presented a brief overview of the joint epidemiologic profile. Today, the framework of the Epidemiologic chapter will be presented as an information item. In, June the Points of Integration committee will present the Epidemiologic chapter for vote & approval

Community Assessment Chapter This chapter discusses how HIV has affected different populations in San

Community Assessment Chapter This chapter discusses how HIV has affected different populations in San Francisco. Specifically, it talks about the needs of different populations living with or at risk for HIV. The African American Action Plan, The Latino Action Plan, the Transmale Rapid Assessment Process, and the Late Testers Needs Assessment will all be included in this chapter. In February 2009 An overview of the chapter was presented to the Council. In May 2009, we will be voting to approve the final chapter for inclusion into the Plan.

Priority Setting Chapter The main purpose of this chapter is to outline the priorities

Priority Setting Chapter The main purpose of this chapter is to outline the priorities for HIV prevention funding in San Francisco. (who and what issues). In December 2008, the criteria for Drivers was voted on & approved by the Council. In March 2009, the final Behavioral Risk Population groupings included in the model and the resource allocation recommendations were voted on and approved. In May, the committee will present the criteria for subpopulations & cofactors and the guidelines for the Priority Setting Box to the Council for vote & approval In June, the Show me the Data committee will present the Final draft of the Priority Setting chapter for vote & approval.

Strategies & Interventions Chapter This chapter provides the tools that providers need to design

Strategies & Interventions Chapter This chapter provides the tools that providers need to design and implement programs. The chapter will provide the key elements on four focus areas: HIV status awareness, Syringe Programs, Health Education and Risk Reduction, and Prevention with Positives. Recommendations for Structural Changes will be made under each of the focus areas. In the fall of 2008, the committee presented the Syringe Access Guidelines and the HIV Serostatus Awareness recommendations. In May 2009, the committee will present the framework of the chapter as an information item. In July 2009 the committee will present the final four focus areas of the chapter for approval and inclusion into the 2010 Plan. The committee will focus on updating the Compendium during August and September. The Compendium will be presented for vote in October.
