The History of the Tractor n n The first enginepowered farm tractors used steam. They were introduced in 1868. They would be operated by 1 man if the engine weighed less than 5 ton. They were used by the timber trade in particular.
The history of the tractor n n In 1932 Allis Chalmers began to us pneumatic tires. The tires had much better grip in the soils. They have many advantages over the new tires including their weight. Today most of the tires used are wide and grooved for best result.
