THE POLIS The Acropolis becomes the main gathering place of the people It serves as a place of refuge, a religious center, and an area for a public market place Surrounded by walls and defensive features These varied in size from a few miles to several hundred square miles

Constitution forms the 13 United States with multiple cities, towns and villages united together Washington DC was constructed in 1790 CE to unite the 13 sates into one nation Washington becomes the center of political activity in the United States No walls surround American cities Malls, parks, schools become the gathering places for American People THE ALL AMERICAN CITY

THE AMERICAN CITY American cities are communities of people that shared a common goal and identity Created great works of Art and Architecture Support their schools, sports teams and musical groups Society Broken into three Groups:

SOCIAL STRUCTURE Adult citizens are equal to each other both men and women Children

SOCIAL STRUCTURE Adult citizens are equal to each other both men and women Children are protected by the law as well as their families Visitors from other cultures are equal in the eyes of the American law system and have the same rights as American citizens
