The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network • The network started in 2015 • We are all about getting older people’s voices heard • We aim to influence policy and strategy in Greater Manchester

We are passionate about making Greater Manchester the best place it can possibly be for people to grow older

The ways we work to champion older people’s voices: • Older people lead the direction of our work • We empower individual older people to strengthen their voice • We gather and share insight about the issues that are important to us

We hold regular large-scale events

• We have developed a new “Insights and Recommendations” booklet. This brings together all of the recommendations that we’ve developed from our various events. • You will all have copies of these on your tables.

Our new Positive Ageing Imagery Project One of the recommendations from our Campaigning and Developing report was that we “promote positive images of older people” and “challenge negative portrayals and the use of ageist language of stereotyped images”.
