“In the beginning was the Word” -John 1: 1

1. For Jewish readers, the Word of God represented the power to create everything that has been made. 2. To Greek readers, the Word (logos) represented the original perfection by which we measure everything.

John 1: 1 • There is a being known as “The Word. ” • The Word was “With God, ” distinct from God the Father. • The Word “Was God, ” divine and eternal, from the beginning. • God the Father and “The Word” (The Son) are distinct. The Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Father, yet they are equally God

John 1: 3 “All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. ”
