There are Five Themes of Geography • Easy way to remember: MR HELP • M is for movement • R is for region • HE are for human/environment interaction • L is for location • P is for place

LOCATION • Location describes where something is • There are two kinds of location * absolute location: an EXACT description (street address, coordinates) * relative location: where one place is in relation to another place (Canada is north of the USA)

Place • Features that define an area or make it unique • Examples that make it unique~ *Land features- mountains, rivers, valleys *Climate/weather *Man-Made Features- monuments, buildings, streets
