It looks a lot like a large mongoose. It has a long tale that is 2 – 3 feet long. It is considered a large mongoose. It is the largest animal on the island Madagascar. You will mostly see it in the night because it is nocturnal. It has 4 legs 1 head 2 ears 1 nose/snout. It is a mammal. It has a cat like head, a dog like snout, large eyes and small round ears.
What noises it makes & how it moves The fossa runs, leaps, walks, stalks & swims. It hunts at night which makes it nocturnal! There is not a lot of information about the fossa. So what sounds does it make? It growls, it howls, it is a slender yet sneaky animal. Is it graceful animal or a horrifying nightmare? It is both? Yes! Fossa’s Enemies! Every animal has enemies so does the fossa but not many of them so it’s hard to scare the fossa. The fossa has just a few of enemies. The fossa’s enemies are humans, crocodiles & the most of them all is habitat loss. They are an endangered species. There is only one kind of fossa and they rare people on Madagascar are killing animals for eating chickens. Like farmers killing them for eating all of their crops and animals the fossa eats what ever it wants. So don’t bother a fossa when they are mad, hungry, or any feeling. If they don’t look happy don’t touch them in fact don’t touch them at all.
The fossa’s enemies I am very sorry but I could not find any pictures of humans. But at least you are a human!

What The Fossa eats! The fossa eats chicken, lemurs, frogs, lizards, rodents, birds, reptiles and many more. It also eats pig & poultry, fish, mammals, insects and amphibians. The fossa also has a handy adaptation it’s teeth! These things can help it eat mostly any meat! The animal will either have to give up or run for it’s life. But if the fossa catches you will not survive!
A chicken is one of the fossa’s favorite foods! Hit play to listen to the chicken
How The Fossa Protects Itself! The fossa protects itself by it’s retractable claws. They can slice through anything it wants they are just 1 of the most sharpest things on earth. And don’t forget about the teeth the very sharp teeth. It has many but this helps it out the best so it can eat. It also has webbed toes. These toes help it run really fast. It’s nose can smell really good so it can smell about a half mile away!
