The Farm Sustainability Tool (Fa. ST) 1. Pw. C Space Practice 2. Introduction to Fa. ST 3. How does it work? The Farm Sustainability Tool (Fa. ST) aims at offering an advisory tool to farmers in order to improve economic and environmental performance of the farms The Farm Sustainability Tool (Fa. ST) Supported by the European Commission’s DG Agriculture and Rural Development, by the EU Space Programme (DG DEFIS) and by the EU ISA 2 Programme (DG DIGIT) ISA 2 What’s Fa. ST? The Fa. ST digital service platform is making available capabilities for agriculture, environment and sustainability to EU farmers, Member State Paying Agencies, farm advisors and developers of digital solutions. The vision is for the Fa. ST to become a world-leading platform for the generation and re-use of solutions for sustainable and competitive agriculture based on space data (Copernicus and Galileo) and other data public and private datasets. The modular platform will support EU agriculture and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) by also enabling the use of solutions based on machine learning applied to image recognition, as well as the use and reuse of Io. T data, various public sector data, and user generated data. The tool relies extensively on the two EU space flagship programmes : Paying Agencies participants (Year 1) Estonia The Farm Sustainability Tool (Fa. ST) Pw. C Piemonte (Italy) Castilla y Leon (Spain) Objectives of Fa. ST • Lay the foundations of a comprehensive digital ecosystem for sustainable farm and land management in Europe • Increase farm competitiveness and resilience by providing improved decision support to farmers, and supporting their administrative decision-making processes • Bolster on-farm environmental care and climate action by incorporating environmental sustainability considerations in farm management decisions. • Strengthen the socio-economic landscape of rural areas by supporting large-scale digitalization of the farming sector • Reduce fragmentation on the farmer market to facilitate growth of commercial solutions Andalucia (Spain) Discussion on-going for the extension to new EU Paying Agencies (national and/or regional ones) for 2021 3

The first demo has been successful this summer before we go live with the tool in December. Please join the next open BETA in September 1 st Fa. ST half-way demo webinar has been successfully hosted on July 16 & 17 2020. The two webinar was organised as follow: • A first technical demonstration of the tool (including first visualisation) to all project’s stakeholders, with a focus on advancements of development & deployment of functionalities, presentation of architecture & backend of the core module; • A more generic demonstration opened to all audience, following the same agenda than the first demonstration, but with a focus on the Fa. ST architecture philosophy and how this philosophy translates in the currently developed platform The videos of this BETA demonstration are available on the Fa. ST official website: https: //fastplatform. eu/ A 2 nd BETA demo webinar will be hosted at the end of the month of September. Please feel free to reach out by mail or follow us on the social media for more details on the date of the webinar. The Farm Sustainability Tool (Fa. ST) Pw. C 7
