Most often, values are developed and nurtured in the family, though some are acquired from school and other environment. Filipino values have long been kept, preserved and treasured over time. They have been handed down from generations to generations.

DEBT OF GRATITUDE (UTANG NA LOOB) – Achievement attributed to someone who helps (family, friends, relative) -Sense of duty and responsibility to repay
GETTING ALONG (PAKIKISAMA) For acceptance and belongingness -fosters general cooperation -helping others -doing good deeds
GIVING IMPORTANCE TO FAMILY (PAGPAPAHALAGA SA PAMILYA) – Family is the first priority – Accomplishments are for the family – Sacrificing for the sake of the family
HIYA (SHAME) - Driving factor to being respectful, obedient and loyal - Controls and motivates person’s social behavior -contributes to conservatism
Objectives: After the presentation, students are able to identify their own values in relation to their families and others. students are able to relate to others what their core values are. students are able to assess their own behavior with regards to the Filipino values. students are able to develop an atmosphere of peace, friendship and family.
